So r u keeping the stock vnt rings or u changing them. I'm planning to try to diy a hybrid gtb22 but im confused with what ur doing with the vnt ring. Do u change it to a bigger one or just bore it out and limit the vanes !!
The rings are the same. The bearing housing from the lmm gets machined for clearance for the lly turbine. I’m not sure why it’s like that but it locks up on the bearing housing if it’s not machined there when converting from an lmm to an lly turbine

I replaced the antenna and still get inACTIVE message. Also codes 604e RDC system and 6055 wheel electronics front right. ugggggg. checked all tpms in all 4 wheels at discount and all are good
Check to make sure your front right sensor/module is in the wheel well and the wires are in good shape. It’s best to follow the codes. I bought some aftermarket wheel sensors and they always cut in and out in the cold. I’m going to have to go back oem next time .

What do you think of running a inline filter on the turbo oil feed line ❓
The inline filter is supposed to protect the turbo if the engine goes bad but it can clog up and cause the turbo to go bad. I don’t use one, if my engine had bearing failure I would just clean my turbo out. If it’s really bad the bearing material will destroy the turbo and the filter will protect that from debris.

Ok. I took mine apart. And they installed the thin vane design. The height is correct...the width of the vane us smaller than stock What is the advantages of the "thin" design

I like Mikalor clamps and JCS Hi-Grip worm clamps. Another but expensive option are honstant tension hose clamps.

Most do but there is a 56 x 86mm compressor wheel used on the He300vg with cab and chassis. Otherwise the earlier models have the hx40 59.96 x 86 mm compressor wheel.

I learn something new about every time I watch one of Your videos. And I know very little about Turbos! But those Pins looked really rough.The knurling looked really bad. I would think press fit or screw in type Pin would work better. just a guess. I really enjoy these videos!👍
I fixed a set of these before , I may have to watch a previous video I made on that rebuild. I think these are 3000$ maybe more. I really think these are the best turbos for that car if they can be fixed and made reliable .

Anyone knows if I can fix the e46 coupe/convertible folding up side mirrors the same way? My driver side mirror is stuck for about 5 years now and I finally want to fix that. Goes up by pushing the button, but not going down (only by hand)… I need to fix that shit now!

I went to your Amazon page. But the image doesn't show this compressor housing...it doesn't say Garrett as well
We changed the compressor housing to a gt4088r housing, the wheel is tge same. The new housings are polished on the outside. The gt4088r housings use a larger diameter oring which is much more durable. The fitment on the truck is the same.

The seller no longer sells this item. I’m going to try to cut it reposition and reweld. I may be able to fix it with a slim fan but I think it will be easier to fix it by cutting and rewelding. If I knew it the fitment would be this poor I would have stuck with my original radiator that I fixed with jb weld

Wow this was 6 years. I'm getting the car re-tuned soon its been sitting since I got a full block rebuild..
When it is solved from car like video The normal that gate is opened as video or be closed in normal
The wastegate is open when the car is off, the wastegate closes when the engine is started. The wastegate flap will rattle at start up then stop rattling when it’s fully closed (thus rattle happens between 3-5 seconds of initial start up). If it rattles when the cat is running then the adjustment is off the wastegate parts are worn throwing off the adjustment or someone did a repair and didn’t adjust them properly.
