HOW TO MAKE RECIPE | HARD TOFFE RECIPE
Ingredients
1 cup White Sugar
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
1 teaspoon Sea salt
Instruction
In a heavy bottom saucepan, add sugar and butter
Bring to a boil on low to medium heat, continuously stirring
Cook until the mixture is a rich golden colour
Remove from heat
Pour into a baking sheet and allow to cook completely

    That is the simplest recipe I've seen on YT. TO speed cooking, perhaps soften the butter, or even melt it, first? Or, would that effect texture? Perhaps, melt butter in pan, then add sugar?

    wow, this turned out great! caramel toffee has always seemed so hard, but this was so simple to make. while making it, it looked so delicious i forgot it was hot and put my finger in to taste it😅

    first time I ever successfully made toffee, Thank You for making it so simple and easy to understand! i’ve tried many times in the past with different videos, it either came out, like caramel, or too hard for caramel, but not quite hard enough to be toffee.

    would it make a difference if I used light brown sugar instead of white sugar?

    Hi Eveleen it makes no difference for the taste, however it is easier to tell the color change of white sugar to caramel than light brown sugar. You can use light brown sugar but you need to keep a close watch to prevent it from burning. Let. Me know if you have more questions.

    If the color is white then yes, otherwise it becomes abit difficult to tell when the color changes with the risk of burning the sugar.

    I believe yes, how oor is hard candy and not sure how easy it would be to form your desired shape especially like lollipop. Give it a try and let me know

    I ACCIDENTALLY LEFT it too long and it BURNED 😢😢😢😢😢😢 now it has a very dark colour like chocolate. Is it still safe to eat???

    Hi Coffeeandkandi, it becomes bitter when burnt. I don’t recommend eating it. Try it again and keep a close watch at it. Good luck👍

    @@jessie0933 Thanks for preparing my recipe. There are several reasons why the butter separated, it could be due to the mixture being either heated or cooled too quickly resulting in "shocking” the mixture. It can also be caused by the mixture being heated unevenly due to the pan in use. Have a lovely day.

    Ive done this recipe before, and it worked. But I’m trying it again and for some reason it won’t work. The butter is melting into the sugar but it’s turning into a huge liquidy mess and after cooking it for a while, it won’t thicken at all. I’m using the right ratio and the right ingredients. What am I doing wrong??

    I tried this recipe, but the sugar didn't melt the way it does in the video. I was left with a greasy brown clump of sugar. Do you have any idea what ive done wrong?

    Hi Bum bum thanks for trying the recipe. You need some patience, continuous stirring and ensure the heat is not high as it would burn. Just follow the steps as in the video.

    Looks more like fudge. I was expecting more of a soft chewy kind of toffy, not really hard like rock candy. But whatever, still looks good and I might use the recipe.
