Nicole is the best! She makes you believe you can make the sandwich. Step by step her walks you through the process. Great job!!
Nicole -- thanks for authenticating. I'm from Philly area and the backlash out-of-area cooks get from making cheesesteaks at home from Philadelphians is nuts. It is really all about the roll, should be really soft, bendable, melt in mouth. I'm an American wit (and lots of ketchup) -- also the board in the background "How you doin?" is so funny. (aside: If you come to Philly, don't fall for Pat's or Geno's -- there are better -- those places are tourists traps).

I'm a Philly suburb native myself. I agree that too many people leave the area and are OVERLY critical many times but I've seen a few terrible representations (one was steak tips on a hot dog bun) as well. I think those REALLY bad ones are talked about so much the good ones get overshadowed. That said, I only had a few outside the Philly-NY-DC region that used (1) a quality roll that I expected and (2) actually chipped their steak well (I usually expect it to be lunch meat thin). Otherwise I think most places do just fine outside Philly.

Amoroso's good
I'm from Philly born and raised, an authentic Philly cheesesteak usually comes with white American cheese but you can usually request provolone or cheese wiz

I'm right outside of Philly and have never heard of anything other than american. Cheese whiz I've never even heard of.
Yum, need this soon. Trader Joe sells shaved rib eye, this seems a good reason to try it.
I've never had an authentic philly cheese steak, but I've had our New England regional variation which is basically just shaved steak with peppers, mushrooms and onions and American cheese.
I lived north oh Philadelphia and the way they were served there was with a good quality American, onions, mushrooms and bell peppers. SO good.
Nicole you did a great job on the Philly cheese steak sandwich. I am Philly born and raised and I like my steak with provolone wit. I have had steak sandwiches from a lot of places but never from Geno’s or Pat’s.
Love all your videos so much. Love that you’re making more frequent vids!
Thank you so much my dear friend ☺️
Nicole I love your recipes. This recipe looks delicious and easy thank you for sharing from a viewer in Toronto Ontario Canada
You got a poltergeist messin with your spatula. Fitting for October.
I watched two other videos before watching this one. I went to the store and got two pounds of Rib Eyes. I decided to incorporate a green pepper. I watched a cowboy who says the cheese wizs is awful and he created his own and did a blind test, and his recipe won! Both videos had butter on the hoodies and then at the end, mayo. Of course, they included provolone and onions. I will make this tonight!
Very good! Love them. And I’m interested in what kind of griddle you are using. It looks to be cast iron! That would be awesome!
Love these with grilled onions..they are awsome
I make these at home and add bell pepper, jalapeño slices and mushrooms with provolone and we add Mayo to the bun… so damn good! 😋
This looks super yummy, love it 😋😋😍😍
I don’t even eat beef and this was making my mouth water!!
Love this thank you
Just came across your Phillipy cheese steak sandwich here in Australia and was very excited to see the pictures of Pat's and Geno's. My husband is mexican and his nickname is Geno, and my son bought him the Geno' s (Heno in spanish) picture for christmas some years ago. Didn't know they made these sandwiches. Thanks sooo much. Fantastic recipe by the way. Love love love it !!!
Awesome recipe 👌
OMG! So cheesy and delicious! 😍😍

Can you make Tamales? With green chilies…verde! I make them every year with my family but would love to see your take on them along with the perfect bite!
Originally from New Jersey. My order is American cheese and onion , but try it with marinara sauce and sliced pepperoncini. Perfect!

Great video, thank you! Question- can you let me know what griddle you’re seigneurial please? I like that you can use the real spatula and not scratch the surface.Totally making this … I’d go American-witout 😉

I live in Philly and you did great!!
Fantastic KZread video as always. I like provolone on my steak sandwich, for some reason the cheese whiz doesn't look appealing to me 😁
I'm from Philly and you did good kiddo. FYI Pat's and Gino's are just tourist places. There are tons or better places in Philly
Make the perfect old fashion way of using pizza dough filling half with fried steak onions peppers and provolone cheese on one half of dough folding the other half over it seal it then bake it. Some people refer to it as a calzone but in the 1970's it had a different name . When I worked in a greek pizza place it was called a steak stromboli. It's been so long since I had one I cant remember if it had pizza sauce in it.
First likefirst watching Excellent recipe 👌 😋 watching
Great video, great cooking, results look delicious. Just shows everyone how much the giant cook tops @ restaurants are not easy to do at home... especially if you're selling like 500 subs a day

Your just so cute
Oh yes and the onions be chopped not sliced....from a Philly girl.
Please make more videos like this, and less lifehacks where you make pancakes in a ricecooker or substitute eggs and oil with a can of soda. No offense but those videos are gross..
