What you have there is just a chopped cheese. I'm sorry man. I love your videos. I have been watching ya for a min. But this would be disgraceful in Philly. And anywhere else.     He did kill it and I was proud of him. But to be honest, and not to upset you, the best cheesesteaks I have had have not been in Philly. In fact the majority of cheesesteaks I have had in Philly have been terrible. Usually in Jersey or old school claymont steak shop in claymont Delaware my man 😂 down here in Virginia and the outer Banks, back and forth, stranded without anything good like that. But this dude moved from up that way to Williamsburg Virginia, has his rolls brought in, and I have to say it says good as any cheesesteak I have ever eaten in my life. Shocked the hell out of me but super expensive

    i am a Philly girl...born and raised!! One thing I think ALL Philadelphians would agree on is that we are extremely proud of our cheese steaks!! (*and soft pretzels!!) So, I must say... ur cheese steak looked absolutely delicious!! 😊

    @@adrianfields8825 yup, i live in central Jersey but im always in philly. N things i noticed is that the DONT season with S&P. the meat n they use sirloin not ribeye. They season the the meat with a seasoning oil, which has salt, pepper, dry aged beef tallow, n a bunch of extra special stuff. But thats what that metal can on the flat top is. They never tell anything more than that, i think it’s like a closely guarded secret. But my standard is mayo, fo, n american. Do go for the wizz from time to time.

    Philadelphian here. Usually hate watching cheesesteaks get recreated. I always get angry at the lack of sticking to the original. This was spot on (minus the bread, but the bread is hard to obtain as it’s a regional thing). Very well done!

    I watched a man make a philly cheese and he flipped the cheese sides onto the heat for 30 seconds or so...he said the 🧀 cheese had to incorporate with the meat onions and pepper juice's. Then you spread it across the toasted roll. The first one I ever had from Philadelphia had only Tabasco Hot Sauce at every table. The vinegar is what I remember making it pop?!?! It's been a while lol mmmmm

    strips rather than diced onions is how I usually see Philly’s served. Doesn’t harm anything to have em diced and in every bite so I guess it’s just a preference thing.

Peppers and onions? Thats a cheesesteak with peppers and onions. Pro tip from a local for real, if it says "philly cheesesteak" its probably not worth your time. Look for places just calling it a cheesesteak.

Onions maybe but def not peppers. Im not judging those who enjoy it that way, thats fine. A cheesesteak simply doesn't have them by default though. Shit maybe 30 years ago but def not now

    @@TKAM88 I was responding to the best steaks being in the suburbs. People hang there hats on Gino's and Pat's being the best, two of my least favorites. You have to try the neighborhood spots. The suburbs and Jersey do have excellent steak sandwiches. BTW, his sandwich looked delicious, but I would've doctored it up with the local (classic) accoutrement (40 year old virgin). I'm for local and cultural variations that pay homage to the original classic. It makes life interesting.

    Super authentic to Philly using that Aurrichio sharp provolone!! I know most will say cheese wiz but sharp provolone is the fanciest way you can do it and still be authentic. So well done you really know your cultures.
