Hey Anza. I grew up with vetkoek and mince. So my friend introduced me to "magwenya" that was being sold by a deer old lady opposite Steve Bhiko hospital. I was hooked. I followed your recipe and i must say, as a Lekgowa trying to make them for the first time. It came out perfectly. Thanx so much. Your a ✨

Go on Lekgowa with your South African self. Do you make the same mixture for vetkoek and mince or? My daughter once had a vetkoek and mince loved it so much and I have no idea how to replicate that taste.
My Dad made those for us as little kids. We loved them!

Thanks for the recipes, it was my 1st time doing magwinya.This recipe z magic,I used half milk half water I'm a breastfeeding mom that struggling with Milk I tell u a few hours after consuming these vetkoek I was soaking wet boobs were leaking was surprised Thanks❤

You can take a small bowl fill with warm or hot water then place your bowl mixture on top to rise quicker

Thank you- You can use less if you find it slightly sweeter- also if you leave the dough to rise longer the yeast will use up the sugar and balance the dough better
