Togbei and koko was my favourite breakfast while growing up as a child in Accra. I almost licked the screen! Lol.
I’m Arabian and this is called Luqaimat or Awamat, drizzled with date molasses or sugar syrup. Amazing how some cultures far away from each other could have some interesting similarities.

@@emue229 Oh really, I didn't know you could bake it as well, won't that come out as bread?. I just followed every step of the video like I did with her banana cake. The 1st set got burnt and the inner part wasn't ready so noticed the oil was too hot so I lowered it and trust me the rest came out perfect and because I couldn't roll perfect balls like she did I had some crunchy corners which I loved. OMG 🤩🤩🤩💃💃🕺🕺 you need to try her banana cake... I never new I could bake but am confident now just by following her videos, she makes things so easy.
I tried it last week and it came out delectable. I made it again today and it came out scrumptious. Thank you sis. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Omg. I have to come back to watch this video again after to make Ghana recipe for the first time after my Ghanaian friends insulted me that Nigerian can't make Ghanaian recipes well like they do 😀but after making this puff puff, they're speechless about the outcome. This is the best puff puff I have ever make so far by following this procedure. Thanks so much sweet Adjeley . You're the best💕🤗

I made these doughnuts yesterday and they tasted very good. I changed the recipe slightly. I added 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of allspice. I also increased the amount of sugar to 2 cups. I used whole wheat flour because I cannot eat white flour. Since whole wheat flour is heavier than all purpose flour I had to use 5 cups instead of 6 cups. Also I had to add more water. Thank you for the recipe I really enjoyed my doughnuts.

Looks like a savory Indian treat we have here called pholorie. I'll definitely try this.
This already looks so delicious.
Congratulations on your channel Chef! I can’t believe I just discovered it, but I am very glad I did- better late than never! I am Greek and we make this similar dessert called loukoumades. We serve it drizzled with honey, cinnamon and sometimes ground walnuts which stick on the honey. We use an oiled spoon to drop it in the hot oil, but I love your hand technique, and will try it! Thank you for your amazing recipes Chef! Anna from NYC
These look/sound delicious. The ingredients are different but the techniques in mixing and getting it into the hot oil are almost, if not, the same as making pholourie in Trinidad...it's an Indian delicacy that is very popular and extremely delicious in our country. I always find it amazing how connected we are through our cultural food and the similarities. 🇹🇹🔥

Lovely donuts! In my country, we dunk our hand in a bowl of water or melted butter before we grab the dough to toss and catch for an easy drop in the oil. Can't wait to try this recipe. Thank you.
They look beautiful! You have a great technique to get the perfect globes! This is called Bonda in Southern Indian state of Kerala .They do it the same squeeze technique as you have shown. The batter is slightly different in that it uses pureed banana as part of the liquid required . Cardamom powder and coconut slivers are used instead of nutmeg and vanila. Some people use jaggery syrup in place of sugar.

This is really a small world. We may have lost a few of our African Culture in the Caribbean, but when it comes food, we still have some. We make a version of that, call *bakes*. We do not use yeast, we use baking powder and salt. Depending on what part of Caribbean you come from, sugar might be added. In Eastern Caribbean where I am from, we serve it with codfish/saltfish or smoked herring. I will most def, try your version. Thank you!
