How To Make Taillights Clear Honda CR-Z

What's up peeps, in this video I show you how I made the taillights clear on my Honda CR-Z 2011 with only a few tools and some clear silicone.
This mod can be very easy to do if the time is spent right and it is not rushed. It can make the look of the car much better and the lights do not need to be changed as they are LED. Follow at your own risk.

    Couple things not mentioned in the video - you won’t need to replace any lights as they are already red LEDs - it’s quite difficult to take out the red pieces but can be done with lots of working at it

    She's gorgeous 😍 I've got a 2014 and I'm in love with her. We've been together 9 years with 115k.... Currently I'm replacing the headlight bulbs. My main issue is the fading paint 😢

    @1Jackpulley sorry but I failed. I cracked the edge tip area. This was my first time so I didn't know which temperature of heat gun I should have set to. I gave up since the crack is near the edge (side of the body), I will just leave it at that before I make it worse.

    @@SIGMA_G12 ah i’m really sorry, that is a big risk you face when doing this mod, you have to be really careful and feel for if it is going to crack, i feel really bad this has happened to you, you could possibly take off the cracked corner and use a super glue to put it back into one piece, it should look as if there is no damage, just be careful to not make any more damage.

    Great vid, got a question tho the owners in my group are all dating that the cap needs to be cut off but then you seem to be able to pry with heat, any idea why they might be saying this?

  • @1Jackpulley

    @1Jackpulley

    8 ай бұрын

    This is because when you pry it with heat you have to be pretty careful to not break or crack the lens, and when you cut it you don’t have to worry about the lens cracking or breaking, from my experience as shown in the video it wasn’t too difficult to just heat and seperate so that’s why I showed this method - you can cut the lens off though if you are worried about cracks or the lens breaking

    @@AndrewPattullo i literally made them clear in spring when temps were around 2 degrees celcius, and it’s summer now with temps of 30 degrees celcius and they’re still holding in great, I just gave them a pull earlier to see and they’re fine so i believe that you are a coach builder, but this method worked thanks.

    I've used exactly the same method, I'm in the UK and the weather is all over the place, but as you @1Jackpulley say they're holding strong and it's been months, they're rock solid and zero leaks. EXCELLENT
