Thank you for this video. I am going to build several of these to store my wife's canning jars! I think I will build ours to hold 18 jars. The crate will be wider that way for stability to stack up. I am going to use 7/16 OSB and 1/2 plywood siding on the bottoms. Because I have a ton of scrap just laying around in my way. The round edge cut off from the 2x4 I will use as cleats on the underside to stop them siding around when stacked. Good way to use up all the scraps in my way constantly. Better way of storing empty jars than cardboard boxes that are constantly falling apart. I love the handle and router idea as well. Again, thank you for the light bulb idea!

Your crates are nice. But are they faster and a bit easier to build than Steve's? Yes. But are they stronger? Gonna have to say "No".

If you coat them with vinegar it ages them , the smell of the vinegar disappears after a couple of days. I have used this method for so many items I have made.

I AM LOOKING FOR STACKABLE BOXES FOR MY FULL CANNING JARS WITHOUT THEM TOUCHING THE TOPS OF THE FULL JARS BELOW THE STACKED TOP BOX... [[BUT ONLY 2 BOXES HIGH]]... WOULD THESE BOXES THAT YOU MADE FIT JUST 12 QUART CANNING JARS?? AN IF SO WILL THEY STAND UP TO THE WEIGHT OF THE CANNING JARS BEING FULL??? AN WOULD THESE BE STACKABLE?? [[I WOULD NOT WANT THEM TO STACK AN THEN FALL OVER]] AND I WOULD BE LOOKING FOR BOXES THAT WOULD FIT 12 PINT JARS THAT WOULD BE ABLE TO STACK 3 BOXES HIGH AS WELL... WHAT SAY YOU...??? If you look at the dust laying on the saw, drill press and miter saw that`s what your lungs will wind up looking like.
