Hello and welcome to the Itadakimasu Recipe Japanese cooking channel! Today, II'll show you how to make soy sauce-marinated salmon roe and sharing the method to prepare fresh ikura. With the seasonal, fresh roe, you can savor a delicious ikura don at home that rivals what the pros make :)

★Ingredients:
Fresh Salmon Roe: 250g
Sake (Japanese rice wine): 2 tablespoons
Mirin (Sweet rice wine): 2 tablespoons
Soy Sauce: 2 tablespoons
Warm Water: 4 liters
Salt: 4 teaspoons

    Looks amazing ! I will try it 😀 we eat salmon roe with poached or soft boiled eggs but this looks even better !

    I’m curious how much the roe costs? It isn’t available here fresh but we can find it frozen. A very small package costs around $35 USD so an investment, but this looks so delicious it may be worth a try! Have a great week 💕💕

    Thank you for your comment! Yes, ikura can be pricey even Japan. The 250g package I used in this video cost about 2,500 yen, which is roughly 16 USD. Oh, I see. That's unfortunate. It's too bad that fresh ikura isn't available in the United States. Anyway small packages of ikura available in the United States are quite expensive, aren't they? I hope you have a fantastic week 🥰
