How To Make Soldering Iron Using Pencil
#Solderingiron
In this tutorial, I learn you how to make a DYI soldering iron with pencil, at home. Because of the leakage of current, this soldering iron is not recommended for sensitive electronics (computers, digital converters, digital amplifiers, digital communications equipment, electrical devices that contains a semiconductor or an integrated circuit board as a key element),
Items used to make this soldering iron: one graphite pencil, a USB cable and a 5V / 2.0A DC adapter.

Thank you for your message! You can use it without the metallic cap (the most difficult part), but the soldering iron's life will be very short, because the graphite is not a very resistant material.

You should be very careful when you cut the wood from the pencil. Also, don't put very much pressure on the graphite, because it's fragile. Good luck with your project! Thank you for your comment! Have a great day!

Check the cable or the charger. You need to have at least a 2A one.

Theoretically ok but practically no, because the lead has become weak & breakable after the two cuts.🤔

The charger does not burn unless it is short-circuited. The graphite bar has a certain resistance that consumes the energy provided by the charger without burning it.

Thank you for your comment! As I explained, this soldering iron can be used only for a limited time. If you look closely at the video, you'll see that the wood starts to burn, because of the high temperature. This is an educational project and the soldering iron can be used when you're in a hurry, and you need to solder some electronics. Have a great day!
