How To Make Simple Pork Ribs At Home
On this video, I smoked up some Baby Back Ribs on my Pit Barrel Cooker. I used 2 rubs for the very first time from Uncle Steve's Shake and both were really tasty. I also used a BBQ sauce from Carolina Q named Carolina Sweet Hickory sauce that paired well with the hickory chunks I used. These ribs were so simple that anyone can make them at home.
Thanks for watching

Hello Mike! 99.9% of the time, I'm a spare guy too but once and a while, we need some baby backs.😁🤘Thanks for watching.
Man those ribs look killer. I really like that Carolina Q sauce as well. Think I first saw it on James's channel and ordered that one, the Carolina Mustard sauce, and the Eastern Carolina vinegar sauce and they are all excellent!

Those ribs are on point man! I’ve been debating on getting me a barrel but man you have had soooo many good cooks I think I might consider it as long as my wife don’t find out 😏 my only concern is controlling the heat! 👀

Hey there Joe! The Pit Barrel does all the controlling for you. They usually run between 250 and 275. Super easy to use. If you decide to get one, click on the link in the description box to order.👍🏼😁
Great Looking Ribs. Loved everything about the video. Thanks and Great luck! The Sweet n SpicyR usually needs a light re-apply after cooking. It adds just a little extra pop without adding too much!

Thanks Steve! The rubs were really good! I'll try adding some extra SpicyR on my next ribs. The SpicyR is so good, my wife loved the Sweet n' Spicy R and my Daughter loved the ones with no sauce...winning!🤘
Great racks Joe! That pit barrel putting out some awesome looking ribs, Uncle Steve's rocks, I add another layer of the Sweet'n the SpicyR near the end of the cook, makes it pop..thanks for sharing brother, have yourself a great weekend, you all stay safe!👍👊🤘

Had my pit Berral for two weeks now....first two cooks the temps were all over the place.....this time I left the vent were it should be for my alt. then I used Kingford (cough cough) long burn charcoal Briquettes rather than little devil lump.....put a hotter chimney full in the middle where I left a little depression and spread the little left over the rest.....I had peppered the wood chunks I the basket .....ok it got up to 308-320 and magically stayed around there.....I think next time I'll not get the chimney so hot and it just might hover in the 270 to 280 range...... it's a bit of a trial and error but I think I'm getting it......I'll use B&B Briquettes next time ......and wrap the ribs in butcher paper rather than foil
💯

Great as always, did you have the barrel at 250? Keep up the good videos. How many people at home? Looks like alot ofg meat!
@SmokinJoesPitBBQ

Hello Danson, the temp ranged between 250 -275. It's 3 of us but I share a lot with my neighbors. Plus we have left overs for a few days too. 👍🏼
what is the purpose of the second bar inside the cooker?
@SmokinJoesPitBBQ
4 жыл бұрын
Great question Cory. It's part of the ventilation. The smoker will cook at a little higher temp if you leave one rod out. It allows more air to come in though the intake at the bottom which will fan the fan and increase your temp a bit. 👍🏼
I’m looking to buy a pit barrel just wondering do you have to put the rods back in when you are not using them
@SmokinJoesPitBBQ
4 жыл бұрын
Hey there, it's recommend tonleave the rods in. Intake them both out or 1 out if I want to increase my cooking temps but just for a short period of time. You get more air flow without the rods and you could get a flare up. 👍🏼

Wow your cook times or great 3.5 hrs , I usually do 5- 6 hrs on my ribs with raping them in foil great video, now I'm hungry 😁
Hey Joe, I'm the "guys" critic, I've noticed your intro is a bit fast and has been for a while, this one not as fast as others. Take a pause as you introduce yourself as Joe of Smokin' Joe's Pit BBQ. It's only a second but it separates the words and more clearly enunciates your channel. Great content and ribs as usual. Just trying to be helpful. Thanks for sharing.
