I don't have any Graham crackers at the moment, but I do happen to have some chocolate, some marshmallows, and a package of Nutter Butter cookies, so I just now tried this with the cookies, carefully taking the top off of the cookies. WOW! 50/10 AMAZING!!!

I have only made s'mores while camping and had no idea that they could be made at home. I never liked the way that the hot marshmallow couldn't really melt all of the chocolate, so this technique is genius. Although I'm not a pyromaniac, I agree with Matt that the best s'mores have that burnt crunch on the outside of the marshmallow, while the inside is soft and gooey. I always try to follow Matt's instructions precisely, but I didn't know what wattage to set the microwave at, and I really wanted that burn on the outside of the marshmallow. So, I threaded all of my marshmallows onto a long bamboo skewer, which I placed across the gas burner of my stove. I prepared the chocolate on the graham crackers and put them in the microwave. The idea was to watch them both simultaneously. I turned the microwave on for a tentative 20 seconds at 800 watts. Next, I opened the gas burner to toast the marshmallows. Then, I turned back to the microwave to see if the chocolate was melting, but my microwave light isn't very strong, so I had to really look hard. Honestly, at 800 watts, 20 seconds was perfect! However, I was so focused on the chocolate that I forgot to look at the marshmallows. As one can imagine, with the bamboo skewer and all, I got more than just a crispy exterior on those marshmallows. It looked like a mini-Krakatoa on my front right burner. From previous experience, I know better than to throw water on a grease fire, so I used a kitchen towel to try to tamp out the flames. Unfortunately, I hadn't closed the gas. I realized my error as soon as the kitchen towell caught on fire. I don't have a fire alarm in my house, so luckily, I wasn't bothered by a bunch of high-pitched beeping while I handled the situation. After some clean up, I put more marshmallows on the "top" side of the crackers and used the microwave and then covered them with the chocolate side that I had prepared earlier. They were delicious! While my attempt to get that burnt-marshmallow s'mores didn't work out, I'm sure that someone might have a good suggestion for me, which I would much appreciate. Thanks again, Matt, for another tasty recipe!!!

Wow what an experience. :) If you have a gas stovetop burner, you can just "roast" the marshmallows over the flame exactly like you would a campfire. At any rate, so glad you tried it and liked it. You are very welcome!

@@inthekitchenwithmatt Oh! Thanks Matt! It seemed like a good idea at the time. Do you think that there would be a safe way to use the gas burner as a campire? For example, if I didn't try to do the two things at the same time? I've seen some chefs on KZread use a miniature blowtorch on desserts. Have you ever used one? I really want to try that. It would be like, "the sky's the limit!" But, even though I told all of my family that I wanted one for Christmas, no one really got the hint, I guess. In any case, you might recall that I used 800 watts, but only on the chocolate and graham crackers... not chocolate, plus marshmallows. I know that microwaves are more intensified on thicker matter, such as chocolate versus marshmallows. So, yours turned out perfectly and I would really like to know what wattage you used. Thanks again!

You might have already seen me on somebody's "fail" video pertaining to that subject. Embarassing incident, but the blow torch was not mine. I would be very safe about that in the future. No more "Stick em ups!" Specifically, if I were to be the owner of such a multi-purposed tool. I hope to get to see your talents with that equilizing device! I mean, obviously, the crème brûlée would be the crème de la crème, but there is the marshmallow thing, and then so many other things that could be crisped up in a matter of seconds! Wow! The possibilities are endless! Can't wait to see your vid on this! Whatever recipe you share, I will follow it closely. Thanks again for clueing me in to the 1200 watts.

High heat on the microwave. Our microwaves here in the States don't have a temp setting. High heat for 10 to 20 seconds. If you have a degree setting try 375 F/190 C. You may need to experiment a little bit.
