How did you learn Vegas?
I've been doing video production since middle school, and in Highschool I started using Movie Studios to edit with. I went to College for Video Production Tech and weren’t happy with the “industry standard” editors I used there. I’ve used VEGAS ever since.

Should have said "Make sure it's a little less than 60 seconds." So if you didn't know... it should be a little less than 60 seconds. If you're hitting right at 60 seconds on the timeline you could have an issue with it being too long. Another Mistake I can imagine someone making. Your render settings matter more than your project settings. I show you to select the correct one and how to edit it to match, but If you don't choose portrait or create the swapped 9 X16 ratio in the render settings, then you'll have a weird looking horizontal video

vegas 17 no portrait option in my render as...and cant get it to work

@@TechDiveAVCLUB i did that but youtube doesn't recognize it as a short also it seems to flip the setting from 1080x1920 to 1920x1080 but I will try again

@@TechDiveAVCLUB ok it worked and youtube recognized it as a short but for some reason there's no sound so I'm gonna have to trouble shoot this a lil longer 👍

@INFINITESYKOSIS be sue you didn't remove the sound In the render settings. It's a check box in the audio tab. Also if you have stuff soloed or muted on the track level it can effect it

I need help. Whatever render setting I try and change the width and height to make sure it fits for a YT short, an error message comes up saying "an invalid argument was specified". I don't know how to fix this and actually have my YT short render.

Yo man I need some help. I saw that Vegas only have a phone line for questioning, so if you could help that would be appreciated. First, I saw the a "New License" for Vegas Post is £200. Does this mean I have a lifetime license and I am able to use it on multiple computers? Do I also get future updates? Second, is Vegas effects extremely similar to After effects so searching for After effects tutorials would actually help when using Vegas Effects? (Are the names of effects the same etc) I personally have after effects and premiere pro for free from uni, but premiere pro is so new to me and so much more clunky. Everything from a simple transition with opacity has to be keyframed but I LOVE the fact that I can use After Effects with it. How powerful is Vegas Effects?
