    Never heard the term “pie cut” before but Drawing out and cutting “lobster back bends” was one of the things we had to do as young engineers. Not sure I could easily draw them out now 40 years later!

    Thanks for the tips👌 Might just come in handy on my next YT upload. The biggest issue I have is finding a suitable cutting tool for the SS tubing. My last bandsaw blade didn't last long at all

    No dramas mate! Just watched your exhaust build, nice work on it! I just subscribed! You definitely need a constant coolant flow over your bandsaw blade while cutting stainless, you then shouldn't have an issue 🤙

    Some great tips re the degree-ing of the cuts, and marks on the Bandsaw. Just one question though. Wouldn't a 3" mild steel donut have done the same job for this application?

  • @house-ofhoon

    @house-ofhoon

    Cheers mate. This has a less than 1" radius. Not sure if there is a 3" donut with such a small radius or not. Also, sometimes you've just gotta work with what you have available at the time

    Bit late but these tips were awesome mate! Certainly gonna help me as I want to do a similiar thing with my tb45. Would you attempt it with a Mig or is it a Tig only process?

    What filler/tungsten did you use for stainless on mild?

  • @house-ofhoon

    It was all mild steel mate. I used a 1.6mm multi mix tungsten with 0.8mm er70 wire from my usual mig wire reel

    Ok, rewatching this months later, I better understand the calculations bit. Except for the 10° ÷ 2 = 5°. I don't know why it is the answer, something about the cuts being cut twice. I'll have to ask a mate of mine to explain it. Who's very good at mathematics and science stuff. Ok, so from looking at the video, it's to make up for the lost material due to cutting from the previous angle... Or something along those lines.
