    Thanks for this. I am deciding between the creatista plus or the pro and was strongly considering the Pro purely because of the long black feature but now you've proven that you don't need the Pro to make this drink and it can be made on the Plus too by using the same method i.e. lungo shot of water and then 2 espresso shots. Thanks for showing this to us and its really swayed me towards the Plus and saving some money!

    Glad it helped Dan. Yeah you can make it with any of the original machines that way. The plus is a great machine for the money. The coffee comes out hotter than on the pro but worth mentioning it is a lot louder than the pro in case that comes into things for you.

    Another fabulous video! Long black “typically” is a 1 to 4 coffee to water ratio and tends to be a little less sweet. Americano as you mentioned lacks Crema making it sweeter and less bitter more like a filter coffee. Podcast was great, maybe you could do the odd pod review in there, but it was great to hear you both talking about something you are obviously passionate about. 👍🏻🤠

Seem to remember that the single origin pods with 2 shots tasted better than others (or even 3 shots 😬) but I’d really have to try it again.

    Another interesting one! I didn't know the difference - although I'm a bit tight and feel like i'm getting more out of the pod by doing the first water pour with a pod in. I do pod in, lungo + espresso then new pod espresso. You miss a bit of the creme - but you get a bit stronger coffee and i feel better value out of the first pod - because I'm tight :D

  • @A2BProductions

    @A2BProductions

    3 жыл бұрын

    It can definitely be done with the Plus - and in all honesty I found the plus made a hotter coffee too - but I suppose having that dedicated setting on the pro just makes the process a little simpler. The fact that the pro also has a dedicated hot water button (can't remember if the plus has that off the top of my head) also makes it easier to top up with the exact amount of water you want, rather than having to reset any cup sizes. Think I'll have to leave that decision to you 😅 We do have a video where we compare the plus and the pro in more detail in case that helps though.

    How do you make a long black coffee on a regular creatista? The one with a rotary encoder near the screen? I only have a lungo option and with the maximum amount of water it still is not long enough

  • @A2BProductions

    @A2BProductions

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi there, if you mean you're adding a lungo sized shot of water to your espresso and it's still not enough water, then you could try pouring an extra ristretto or espresso shot of water after to top it up. Or you could even consider resetting the lungo cup size if you don't use it for a regular lungo coffee.

    Really like the comparison between the two. Did you notice any difference in the temperature ? I have the creatista pro but found the long black shot to be kinda warm almost lukewarm after adding normal milk. It’s not as hot as the flat white or the cappuccino drinks.

  • @A2BProductions

    @A2BProductions

    Yeah you're right, it wasn't the hottest after adding milk. Do you tend to heat the cup first using the hot water button on the machine? I've not really had to yet with the other drinks but probably would for this one going forward.

    Tough question as I prefer the taste of the original coffee and you can make an Americano with the OriginalLine machines (we have a vid on that) but Vertuo does seem to have been designed more with the big cup market in mind, so in theory it would be a better choice for drip style coffee.

    @@A2BProductions thanks for your reply! I think my only worry was that apparently with the original machines you’d have to use around 2 capsules for a normal Americano due to the coffee being too diluted. I’ll check out your other vid:)

  • @simonnyberg5578

    @simonnyberg5578

    3 жыл бұрын

    They're all really pretty much the same in brewing coffee, the big differences are the sizes of the machines, water tank capacity, heat up time and the amount of used capsules the machines hold. If money is no problem but you don't need milk get either one of the vertuos (only Nespresso-made capsules, so that's a problem if our don't want to order them and don't have a nesspresso store close to you) och something like the citiz (which is one of the original machines, that do work with capsules you can get in your regular store). Otherwise something like the pixie or essenza mini would be totally fine, just smaller. I've heard however that the heat of the coffee can be a bit irregular on the cheaper ones, that's not something I've noticed drinking from my friends cheap machines though.

  • @simonnyberg5578

    @simonnyberg5578

    3 жыл бұрын

    Also I should add that if brew size cups is what you're looking for then the vertuo machines make that (without you having to make Americanos instead). I personally don't see that as a problem, I just keep a French press for whenever I need a large cup.

  • @A2BProductions

    @A2BProductions

    For espresso to be honest I find the crema / foam from the VertuoLine machines a little unnatural and there are so many more espresso pods available in the original range (plus compatibles), that think original would be the way to go for you. As for the original machines we did find (at least on the machines we've owned) that the espresso was a little more watery on the smaller machines like the essenza mini than the bigger ones like the Citiz, so Citiz may be a good option. Also while the Creatista machines are more designed for milk (and thats what you pay for in a way) the Creatsita Plus did make a nice hot espresso and the Pro does have the dedicated long black button and separate hot water feed, so you can pour hot water that doesn't have any coffee residue in it. While the video showed you can make americano and long black fairly easily without those features, some people might view it as something they want regardless of price, so thought I should mention it. Hope this helps

    Hi there, yeah some machines are hotter than others. Planning a video where we test all the machines we have to see which is hottest but a couple of tips would be to run a shot of water (maybe even a lungo shot if you want it really hot) through the machine without a pod into the cup you plan to use first, empty the cup/glass and then pour your coffee. This will heat up the mechanism inside the machine and less heat will be absorbed by the cup too. Hope this makes a difference.

    Yeah the aged Sumatra has arrived today so am looking forward to trying it. When it comes to taste I have found the essenza mini to be a little more watery than the other machines but don’t want to lead you into spending a lot on the Creatistas if you just don’t like the Nespresso coffee if you know what I mean.
