I'm lucky my husband totally supports my ebay business if I say I need a piece of equipment he says order it. This past Saturday we went to an estate sale in 20 deg. F temp. he drove and helped to get into the house as I have mobility issues. He carried the objects I chose as well as searched out things I said I was looking for, the house was extremely crowed with over 60 people. I helped me in every way as well as encouraging me. I'm sure when Spring comes and better weather we will be visiting garage sales. I have had the reseller bug for over 10 years and we are in our mid 70's. He is my blessing. Poly mailers are awesome, but not necessarily for books. I have had two very expensive and scarce paperbacks arrive folded across the spine (I assume because of shifting in the airplane or the truck). I reinforce books on both sides with stiff cardboard cut to size for the poly-mailer.

Could you post a written formula on your sell-through percentage? I realize the "at a glance" numbers as well as using searches with as much specificity as possible. How best to hammer down on descriptions - like your shirt example? I'm talking ebay here. Thanks for your videos!

If you're packing something heavy and delicate like a receiver, surround it with Styrofoam. You can sometimes find panels of this in dumpsters.

Great video. I would avoid electronics unless that's your nich. There can be so much complaints and returns with such items. Returns are such a time consuming activity to get going wit. And psychologically discouraging.

I already violated the sell through rate model. I have a ton of items. Thoughts on bundling some of these? Is it crazy to list? I've also seen 5 pictured and buyer chooses 1 - what setting allows that process? Thanks!

Idk on how many reach that number. I started hitting daily sales week 1. I started have 3 per day at 150 listings

Wow! ALL the info a new seller needs to know in a nutshell! Fyi, I've been on eBay since 1998 but quit selling for a while. When I started selling again I had 2000+ feedback but somehow the scammers found out I was selling regularly and must have thought I was stupid! I was fighting them off for a couple of months! LOL! What do you fill in the “ additional item specifics and value? It’s confusing. And do you refund the original shipping cost? Do you state that in the description box to let customers know? Or is this automatic standard already? So customers read your refund on the original ship cost? What’s the rule on this. I do 30 days free return. When you do only refund the original ship cost ? Or full refund is always the standards by eBay? Is this bad business to mentioned under “ Description “. Thank you for this video; I learned a few new things about listing items. Do you promote your items? Right now I promote all my items at 3%. I was considering dropping to 2%, but I feel pretty good at 3% right now because most of my prices are pretty low to start with.

Your videos have been a great help to me and my business. I will tell you, however, that thermal printer paper is highly carcinogenic. I use regular paper, snip to size, and slip it into a postal customs envelope, or for smaller packages, I tape over them with transparent tape. A bit more work, but I do not recommend cancer.

On another video you talked about banking items so you can take time off and still list. I used some of mine over the weekend. Since my husband ships out, I had the weekend free! We are going to be traveling for 2 weeks over the Christmas holiday. So I can list but there will be no one to ship. So do I need to list? Also how do you put your listings on pause? Just unlist? You can set your eBay account to vacation mode. It will tell people you are away until the date you put in. No need to unload everything.

What I don't understand is the sometimes huge difference in pricing for tge sane items. For instance a well known collectible can be listed for 400.00. 😊the same exact product is listed for 39.00. How??

Don’t refund shipping. For “buyers remorse” reason you don’t have to. You still could if you’d like to. But you’re not required to

I have a question... I understand STR, but you seem to have a lot of those bats, clubs, clothes and other things just sitting around and not moving... are those items priced too high or are the STRs just really bad on them? I'm still learning and I know I have made some bad choices on some of the items that I have bought at the Thrift stores because I was still very green when I bought them. I'm just being curious because it seems like you have accumulated a lot of those items.

@@JrideFlips Interesting, and I also think I answered my own question when I heard you talking about drafting a lot of items then slowly listing 5, 10, 15, to 20 per day. That is an interesting stratagy that I didn't think of, makes a lot of sense. I'm glad you mentioned it in the video. Oh and I see you're a 49ers fan... get ready, Eagles vs 49ers on Dec 3rd, should be a great game. Almost like a pre-playoff meeting... Fly Eagles Fly on the road to Victory!

Another question... when you're thrift store hunting for inventory or yard sales, flee markets etc and most items don't have a name or model number on them, how do you look them up on eBay? What do you use as your search key words in order to get an as close to accurate STR? Good Will is the worst at price tags, there is literly no info but a price on those tags.

I go through my husbands closet and do the same but if my husband were to go through mine and say oh she hasn’t worn this in a while let me sell it lmao I’d be filing for Divorce immediately 😂

I disagree with FREE. With listing fee, labels, tax, i am lucky if I net half of my listing price

I as buyer don’t like my items such as the camera and the like being shipped to me in a poly bag. Unfortunately, too many ebay sellers charge for a box shipping and then in a poly bag. At least, you used a good amount of bubble wrap and did a tight poly bag wrap. i have many horror stories where the seller is a poly bag junkie

Watched your presentation. You seemed to confuse turnover with profit. Selling 1000 items but only profiting $1 per item is the same as selling 100 items and profiting $10 per item. You often have to work harder for low profit items because your turn over is crazy. I'd sooner sell 1 item a day at $30 profit than 30 items a day at $1 per item. Dont forget, 30 items a day is 1000 items a month which is your private seller limit. Work smarter, not harder 😊

I feel the same way. I profit around 100-300 an item. I sell a lot of cameras. I have almost 100k in sales this year (my first year). I do this on the side for extra money

@avengence exactly what I said. If you make $300 per camera and that's a 100% mark up so you bought the camera for $300 and sold for $600. You need to sell 3.2 cameras every week. That gives you $100,000 in sales as you say and $50,000 in pre-tax profit. So you need to source 3-4 cameras, each one with 100% markup, spending $1000 dollars in inventory every week, photograph, list, package then post every week. If you are doing that, you are doing very well in fact I would say it would be almost impossible part time.

@@andyalden3202 I'm not just selling cameras. I am selling multimeters, game consoles, other various electronics. I'm close to hitting 100k this year in sales. Not profit, just sales. It's a lot of fun and I'm learning a lot as I go.
