I wanna add one more income stream as a producer. Instrumental albums/releases! Producers sleep on this, but it’s a nice source of passive income, and you’ll become more visible as you promote those releases. Producers like Metro Boomin’, and 9th Wonder drop them all the time, and some of them are the instrumental versions to actual songs they’ve worked on! 🔥

bro said all the time too, metro has literally never done that once 😂 people don’t listen to instrumental albums if you don’t have a following why would anyone want to listen to your beats? even if metro made a instrumental album it wouldn’t chart in any way

@@gggz420 I said “all the time” and it wasn’t just about Metro Boomin’. I also mentioned 9th Wonder. But they both dropped multiple Instrumental albums over time, so I’m not sure what’s so funny.

23:05 That's because the mix engineer is just that important. You have your Pensados, Alges, Braithwaites, Araicas, Joshuas, and many others that are SO vital to the mix.The song could still be a hit without them but it wouldnt hit right (pause) without them.

Each episode always goes so hard. Kinda crazy how big mixing KZread has gotten vs starting with songwriting/ arranging and producing/ or engineering and recording. which I think are infinitely more important and come before. For example I knew years of mixing before I figured out what a hardware pre amp and compressor can do for your sound

Before we understood the conversion websites, one of the homies had his interface routed where he could hit "record" in Cool Edit and rip whatever audio he was playing through the computer direct into the DAW. To this day I don't know how he was doin it but we just had him going on soundclick and ripping the beat for the session right on the spot.

Yo as live audio engineer for the last 6 years that's going back to producing. I will always charge Rap artist the most because with out me I know they have no live show. Where as bands and R&B artist are different. They actually try to put on a show. Usually have musicians with them. But rappers no matter how big don't have a show without their beat maker. Which also speaking of beat makers they need to stop calling themselves producers. On god they giving adtual producers a bad wrap. If you hate producers its because you been working with beat makers.
