Nah that was definitely Devvon 😂
Reaper/Ableton user here and I think I found my new favorite podcast. It’s like finally finding your people talking your language. Thank you all involved in this ❤🔥🙏🏼
First time watching an actual episode instead of just the short. Loved this convo and THANK you for shouting out Simone Torres, I searched her right after you mentioned her 🔥
A hidden Gem for pro tools users for the reverse reverb effect...open "DVerb" go to the part of the vocal you want to apply effect (works best on vowels ) click the end of the "vowel" hold shift and click the space before the vowel (depends on how long you want the reverb tail) highlighting the vowel and space before where the effect will start...then at the bottom of "DVERB" click reverse , then pull back the audio of the vocal clip and blend in the effect 💎
22:09 YES! I used to have my bands In-Ear Monitors and the Crowd Mics set up this way. All 4 of us had in ears in, stereo mixes with the X32 Then we had 2 sm57s in an X pattern infront of the stage. We had it set up to automatically turn the crowd mics OFF when the backing tracks from the TrackBook start playing.
Loving how you guys are talking about the classic songwriting process. Tips n Tricks / Techniques 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
2:03 this is for the history books 🔊🔊 The Man himself has officially made the switch 🙌🏽🙌🏽
This podcast is one of the rawest realest radest ones out there. Showing love from Canada ! Ay I just built a home studio this past year and finally living my dream, like you was talking about having a place to just go and record - it isn't if it's when ! Just gotta stay focused on what matters most, bring in that dough and not let the rest of the world bring you down. Stay blessed, SH!ELD🛡️
Nah bruh, first vid I'm watching here. It's the way y'all speak about it that y'all have your heart on your sleeves about this shit. You mean it, you live it, and you're all very authentic. I fuck with y'all. Thanks for this insight fr
Watched a couple of Help Me Devvon vids in the past, for years now. Great stuff.. but I only just stumbled across the Audio Nerds Podcast today and I've literally been sipping tea and binging episodes the entire day and taking notes from different episodes. AMAZING Stuff
i dont know where i been at fr ive been mixing for a couple years now and i didnt know about these podcasts i been living under a rock fr
yall do that all engineers first team, and im telling you rn, the engineering community is gon turnt up. in a great way. they will put more respect on the engineers just like they do producers
I love these videos man. I wish I had a mate or 2 that loved and understood music like I do. Yall are lucky. Keep the videos up man 🔊😎

My favorite podcast BY FAR!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Dev feel how I felt about the in and outs I used to hate that shit and now it's been cool hearing em on vocals
LJ def got caught lacking. Don’t know if u read the comments LJ but I’m the one who recognized you in the Guitar Center in Brooklyn. Like I said I’m no longer in the music like you guys but still love audio and watching you guys talk about everything so is dope to watch.

Yessir! Man it’s nice to hear from you! Glad you’re tuned in!
Damn, i love that courtney perks up the last episodes. He feels much more confident. By the way, great record. Love you guys
Devonn! me too last time I checc'd is one of my most used reference tracks!
I’m a DJ who only did a little beat making on MPC a couple years ago, but dropped it focus on DJing. Half the stuff y’all talk about on the pod I have no clue what y’all are referring to but it’s fun to watch and hear y’alls perspective on music. The topics are for a niche audience but the way y’all present it has mass appeal.
The vocal side chain idea for live performances is 🔥🔥🔥
Sent this to all my music friends. That’s so crazy. Live chain is kinda fire too
So many gems. I had no idea who Jon Bellion was been in a rabbit hole ever since. Might be the most talented dude I’ve heard the Italian Ryan Leslie.
Yo I have that episode with Simone saved... her process is sooo smooth!
I think you guys should get Big KRIT on the podcast. Extremely dope artist who also engineers others and himself as well produces his own music. He fits the bill in all areas of music

That was fire 🔥 , live chaining don’t sound bad
You guys need to bring on artists…. AND their engineers!!!! That would be amazing.
An episode with MXXWLL would be fireeeeee tho
The word LJ was looking for was captivating. Very captivating 😂
I need Brandy and Leon Thomas on this show because I really need to know their process. Also D’MILE IS A MUST!!!!

Niggas sleep on Leon he’s crazzyyy bro play hella instruments too
Masego and FKJ are *Ableton Live* OG's ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
I really don't comment as much as I should but I watch every episode. Bringing artist on the show would be a huge game changer. As an artist who records and mixes myself, I'd love to hear from others who do the same. Ariana Grande, Young Thug, Travis Scott, Future all track themselves. Chris Brown has a very fast paced workflow, etc ect. It would be nice to see the strengths and weaknesses of certain types of artist in there creative environment
I'm a great rapper... but only a studio singer at best.. I'm definitely gonna Live-Chain my vocals from now on.. this was a great tip!!
Y’all set up is Godly
Great podcast I watch every single Wednesday! Had a question how do I get in contact with you guys if I want a song mixed?
I never comment, watch a ton. But “livechaining” is perfect
That live chaining idea is craaaaaaaaaazy
Studio one is here
Yo Courtney, spill the beans on the background vocals processing bro
if yall managed to get Bruno Mars on the pod somehow that would be my favorite episode EASY. The way I wish I understood his creation process so much deeper is crazy.
Yea that "live-chain" idea is genius
He Wasn't Man Enough is one of the best sounding tracks ever. It's literally my top reference
I had the same idea of sidechaining but with guitar because I've making a lot of stuff with guitar and I find guitar so hard often i don't even remember what i played.
Bruh i love this channel🖤 wish the best to yall n keep dropping gems💎when i get rich ima give back to yall💯💸
Y’all should make that live chaining a plug-in 💯💯💯
Great show live chaining would probably only be possible with some kind of LLM, AI algorithm that makes the cuts sound realistic by generating word falloffs
Phil Beaudreau would be a great guest! Artist, engineer, musician, and pure genius. Never gets interviews. Go listen to his song Dreams We Share if you never heard any of his stuff. He also works with legends on regular
Early gang gang 💪🏼💪🏼
About to head to LJ’s KZread page to see what audio interface he chose!!
“Live chaining” 🔥
Lets Go!
Can you put the KZread videos you referenced in the description? Want to check out those masego videos
have yall done a episode on the best de-essers?
Now we need a tutorial on live chaining caz I also am i studio artist at best I won’t sound as good love so I need to learn how to do that.
Hey Devon, help!!! When I make a beat, I make my kick and my bass mono. But when I send the tracks to a new session my kick and bass imports as stereo. Do I have to convert them back to mono or do I just mix them as stereo? I'm using studio one. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
listening to your "old techniques" just made me travel back yoooo 🤣
Can you speak on vst installation and if theres services that will do it for you. I have trouble installing new kontakt plugins. #flgang #helpmedevon
Bro if you get Chris brown on the podcast it’s done deal …best artist you can get on there ,I’d also like to see how Kevin gates sees mixing his music
Diamond member should get a segment on the pod!
2:04 That Sketch app must be 🔥
LJ WALKS THE PLANK !
Y’all need to get Russ for Courtney on this. He mixed, mastered, and produced his there’s a wolf album.
Y’all should interview Big Krit on his production/mixing/beat making…
@therealcourtneydavid love yall content. Been watching since day one! Btw From a fella brotha named Courtney…. I watched you mix one of Courtney’s record and his shits mad dope 🤝🏾
Jodeci backing vocals is French kiss “Xs we share and Cry For You”
the quiet moment after live chaining haha. Im a nobody or i would've told you about live chaining haha
Y'all should totally have T Pain! I think he'd be game!
“Live-Chaininggg!”…..”Alright we’re gonna work on your marketing! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LJ is beyond genius 🌅 21:03

I’m think the mastering classes are cool, what if I don’t have the same plugins that you use while teaching the class ?
yoooo i aint know LJ had the vox like that ! lol hella unexpected
I feel like this is the first episode these mother fuckers just realized what they got. with this show 🤣 They all three happy as hell just enjoying life. No DAW wars just chilling with they shoes off. lollllll Great episode as aways. Cant wait to see what's next #blessings
