How To Make Jalapeno Dove Poppers

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

It is not hard to learn how to make Jalapeno Dove Poppers at all. It is one of the regular dishes that we make every year during dove season. If you do not have dove then you can always substitute some chicken breast that you have cubed up. However you do this I promise you it is goingto be great. The procedure is simple. just fillet the meat off the bones and season them up. Then you can add a strip of onion and of jalapeno, wrap them in bacon and season then again. Now throw them on your grill untill they reach 165° internal temperature. During the last few minutes of cook time cover them with your favorite jelly or sweet and spicy sauce. Leave them on the fire long enough to set the sauce. Allow a little cooling time and then enjoy these great jalapeno dove popper hors devours or hors d'eourves. However you spell it, they are great appetizers.

@@TexasStyleCuisine Not many dove here in the Middle East. Occasionally, when I see fresh Jalapeños, I buy all they have. I smoke and dry the ones I don't use right away and then grind to make chipotle chile powder.

Very nice chef! We do this with dove and prairie chickens aka Sharp tail grouse and it's fantastic. We'll have to try to find that dipping sauce. Have a great day my friend 👍

So what do you brine them in I heard you say milk but not sure. I ask cause my wife thinks their too gamey so need something to take out that gamey flavor.

Soaking in milk or butter milk will draw out some of the blood and that will help. Also don’t leave them in a hot hunting vest all afternoon. That is not good for the flavor.

If I make these with chicken breast do I soak it in milk as well? If so, for how long?

Not for chicken. The milk pulls out some of the blood. The chicken will be just fine

Using milk is for city people you lose all the good flavor

Won’t argue about using milk to draw out blood. My wife does not like the strong taste of a dove, so she will eat them when I cook them this way . For me straight to cooking is fine. So not necessarily City people, but people that do not like a dark meat, this technique will work. Thanks for watching.
