Hei man, thanks for everything you're doing here! It really helps out. I'm working alone on a pretty neat game and I had no clue about SFX creation until some weeks back when I came across your channel and I've been learning and practicing and things are starting to click for me. Still a long way to go to have good sounding assets for my game, but taking it one day at a time. Thanks again!

Thanks for doing these! They're great for those of us wanting to learn how to create sound effects. It's particularly helpful when you include the Reaper screen shots. You mention the Blipsounds Community Library. Where? Can't find it on Blipsounds.com. Here's an idea for a future topic: "Creating Your Sounds Library." Cover sound acquisition, file naming, library organizational structure, including sounds recorded by others, incorporating music sample libraries, using ID3 tags, file management software and database systems. Here's another idea: "Learning to Speak Sound Design." Translate those special terms, using sound examples and waveforms to illustrate. Terms like whoose (sp?), impact, attack, tail, reverb, hi's-mid's-low's ... you get the idea. Again, thanks for doing these. I'm enjoying learning, and you're a great teacher.

Hey man, just found your channel! Awesome content! programmer here trying to make some basic sounds. Would you happen to have videos on how to make Menu/UI sounds? Mainly looking for something in the vibes of Dino Crisis or the old school Resident Evil games, basically menu sounds that sound like they're from a 90s game. Not sure how they did those... synthesizer I guess?

I am also trying to build up a sound library by field recording, but also would like to learn how to alter some sounds to game "game sound packs." I get a little discouraged since I wonder why anyone would wanna use my stuff, but I'll keep workin at it since I enjoy it. Thanks for your videos, ^_^ They will help a lot.

Hey guy, you’ve got really great and useful content! I’m in the starting phases of making my first game and this type of channel was exactly what I was looking for! I realize you probably get asked these questions quite a bit but if you don’t mind helping a newbie out... -What is that furry thing you’re using to record? A specific type of microphone? Would you have a link or instructions for one just like it? -What program are you using to edit your sfx? -How would you go about making walking sounds on grass and other types of surfaces?

Microphone is a handheld zoom recorder. H6 it appeared. The fuzzy thing is a dead cat, it stops wind noise from obscuring the source you're trying to record. The program he's using, is Reaper. Sounds on grass, and other surfaces, are approaching Foley (Google it), which is less of a sound FX type recording process, and more of a sound design process.. Maybe that's improperly phrased, but Foley is what you hear when a person is walking in a film. Sound effects are the noises you hear when Godzilla roars. He didn't actually roar lol 🤑 hope that helps!

I would always use a real kick for a deep layer and a noise if you have one.. and only 1 recorded layer with a lot of pingpong and reverb 👌 and maybe even a synth on top with lfo mod or pitch down or so
