    0-3-7, 04-7 .. thats all you really need to know, but you gotta build your root notes first, and then figure out whether to go minor or major i never listen to them while i build, i usually think in my head.. depending where the first note is place, if i want to go happy or tense, i usually like to start happy on a minor scale and end with tension so it actually stays in the minor scale, then from there build the top melodies(this is where u shine) chords are the easiest part of a song , your soul and uniqueness will usually have to be on this section, and it's what sets apart the boys from men , good stuff man, youre def getting better at getting more unique

    Man u make it sound easy and I be wondering if a more numeric approach would help me memorize what go with what..I Def ain't got the hardware that make this shit as easy as it look on here, been trying teach myself best I can watching yt about music theory and chord progressions and what keys go together, n for all the time I've watched I still be lost lol. I'd say the "Root notes" like the first 4 I do be sounding good but when it come to layering and and then doing the lil shit like he does in the video, wit all them small ones n all that extra shit i be lost, but practice make perfect I guess. I was always just a rapper wit a ear for beats, but I've been trying teach myself how make my own shit using band lab for now, n have noticed a huge difference from the shit I had first made, to what I can put together these days, I could actually spit on sum this shit here n there, but I still be using them samples n shit n mixing my own shit into em, n I feel like that cheating, I wanna be able really create my own sound..it be frustrating not being able to translate the beats I have in my head into the Daw. I stopped writing like I should n recording because I been grinding try learn this producing n then mixing too..Engineers/producers Def don't get enough love lol. I be lost asf n going by ear most da time shit I wish I woulda took the time to really go school for the shit n learn all the technical shit but I was too caught up in the streets n the studio was just the spot til that shit fell apart n having a daughter I had stopped fw wit the music all together for 5 years atleast

    Good call. I usually start with that kind of progression with bass notes then place each note at a time with each moment of the song and tweak each note one by one until they all fall into place and make something interesting. Keep tweaking every not you don’t like listen back a bunch of times and do one note at a time and take your time. That’s what I do.

    Hey brother. I just found your channel, and I’m digging it. I’m an older rocker, but I can see some carry over between our styles. I’m more into real drums and sounds, but the melodies you chose here are very similar to the music I like to write. So I’ve subbed, liked and commented. I’m looking forward to hearing more of your stuff. Great video, man. Very instructional, I love it. All the best bro.

  • @rlyBeats

    @rlyBeats

    Жыл бұрын

    i think you may be confused as the first and third chords are minor and the second and fourth chords are major. however, sometimes it can be good to go between minor and major chords, but theres really no rules to it, using your ears is what works best and seeing what chord would sound how you want after the first chord
