Just saying but arduino and project like these are around almost every school in USA. I agree that this is not easy to do but from my perspective and my experience with arduino project this is very easy.

Add a rule that the lock opens automatically when battery starts running low;)

You can use solenoid lock instead of this old type lock

@Creativity Buzz. Really cool idea. I'd like to suggest on going for a pneumatic actuator servo(for linear motion) than an rotational one. If you use the pneumatic actuator servo you can skip the use of the lengthy screw. If possible give a try on that.

It is practical, just u need a more powerful servo, with all the electronics hidden under a good cage and the battery source from the ac in Ur home which is been converted by ac to dc transformer and 12v to 5v transformer

You can probably find the library on Github somewhere but usually when you buy the fingerprint sensor it comes with a disk or instructions to tell you where to get the library. In this case it seems like it’s Adafruit fingerprint sensor :)

Wow, very cool! I can't think like this. This way, you can make a cool automatic lock without spending tens of thousands of dollars.

Video was good, and interesting, but there was some very annoying issues. 1) Music (I would want to hear working noise) 2) "Next video screen" started too early

A simple solution would be that, you can change battery from outside the home. Some modifications with the designs are to be done. So while leaving you can also take the battery with you and if it gets discharged you can buy a new one.
