Great video a year ago but just popped up today. I have done some napkins with glue via Natasha’s KZread channel, but never considered using it with fabric, which I have tons of as a quilter also. What a great idea.

Lovely, thank you for a great tutorial…I don’t have the gold mesh but thinking I will stamp in metallic ink for the top layer, or maybe some embossing if it will take the heat. Time to make a mess…😁

Lovely but I feel the sewing before covering just added to bulk, personally I’d have sewn round either an inch or 1/2 inch from the edge or sewn as you did later after sticking it on and leaving to dry. I really love the idea but I’ll omit the 2x sewing on the edge. Thank you. X
@AtticTreasuresEtc

Thank you, Shirley! Certainly sewing is always optional, however it didn’t really add to the bulk at all. All the papers are very thin so the bulk is minimal. Thanks for watching! ~Kathy xo
I like this process. Did you dilute the gloss mod podge for the cover? Thanks for sharing 😊💜
@AtticTreasuresEtc
Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, Cheryl! I didn’t use the gloss on the journal cover, but I did on the others examples I showed. I didn’t measure, but I diluted it approximately 2/3 gloss to 1/3 water. Thank you very much for watching!! ~Kathy xo
I love your channel and have subscribed to it. I have a question about making fabric paper. Do I have to use pattern paper first?
@AtticTreasuresEtc
Жыл бұрын
No, you can use any super thin paper. Thank you so much for subscribing and for your lovely comment! Have you seen the giveaway video yet? I hope you’ll get in the drawing! ~Kathy xo
What a fun cover! Every time I have tried making fabric paper, the paper part pulls away from the fabric as it dries, leaving bubbles in the fabric. I must be doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what. I make sure to saturate the fabric, I add the papers the same as everyone else seems to, I'm using thinned plain white glue..... Any ideas? I love the look of it, and I would love for it to work for me!
@AtticTreasuresEtc
Жыл бұрын
Hi Tammy, thanks for the great question! The only thing I can suggest is maybe not thinning down the glue as much. That said, mine still has a few air bubbles too, but once I sew the edges down they’re at least not going to fall apart. Another thing you can do, is once it’s fully dried you can “crazy stitch” all over, or back and forth in even spaces, like on a quilt. I think that would create an awesome texture. I hope this helps! Thanks so much for watching and commenting! ~Kathy xo
