Twenty years ago we called this 'book cloth' and the tool a 'rotary cutter'. But everything keeps changing, the hand sewing I did since the 50's is now a new thing called 'slow stitching'. I shake my head... This is lovely, your videos are the best.

So lovely!!! I used the birdie collage tissue last year on wood slices and put fine white glitter on top and glued cord on for hangers and decorated my Christmas tree with them. They turned out beautifully. I will try to make the journal this year. Thank you for sharing!!!❤❤❤

Gorgeous covers, I’ll definitely give this technique a go. If you put cornflour in a cotton sock you’ll have a dauber to wipe over anything sticky or static ☺️

What was the brown stuff you put on your cloth. i love watching you make things . you are so good .i would love to know what you use ty bonni
Just watched again to remind how to do this,mother Tim holtz tissue looks great! Did you make these into journals? Xx

Did you heat dry your fabric covers or air dry? I’m at aw! Love it Andrea

Thank you, I put them on my little heater I don’t tell people to do that for obvious reasons. Mine is one of those radiator types which I find quite safe. X
Cool idea. Can't really see those markers on the tag. I would use Posca paint pens to color in and a little white to highlight..make it a little dimensional. Was that black gesso you used? I've never used that at all. Christmassy with a lil gold glitter.
@artymaze
3 жыл бұрын
Thank you the pens actually worked fine and are quite vibrant must of been lighting. (I like post a pens though) I didn’t use anything black was it the stainz by patty pockets you are referring to? X
Very beautiful and they are adorable. I would like to know where to purchase that tissue roll from. Thank you
@artymaze
Жыл бұрын
Hi, it’s one of Tim Holtz you could try Amazon. I’m not sure where you are from so just google search Tim holtz tissue paper x
Curious if you or anyone else has tried doing same basic thing but only doing the glue on the top layer? If so, does it give same effect or different? Just curious since the paper is so thin. heading into work or I would try it right now myself. Lolol. Thanks for all you do!!
@artymaze
3 жыл бұрын
What I can foresee is that you would have to saturate the top to make sure it went through which could cause the tissue to disintegrate, with soaking the bottom layer you
I like what you have done. My question is where did you get the birdie tissue from? I simply love it and need some.

ever add a drop of ochre to it to make it look beeswaxy?
Ha Ha, It is not just your glue. I have gone quite lumpy on the bottom too. Andrea, I know you have an ink jet and a laser printer. If you could only have one which do you prefer? I am seriously thinking of getting a laser printer.

I thought that I was the messiest worker i know!
When using the watered down glue or modge podge does it cause the tissue paper to wrinkle up? I’m not a fan of the wrinkles so I have some of the stuff that sold as Tim Holtz for using instead of the modge podge. It’s expensive so I try to save it for projects that truly need it but it’s looks like you didn’t get any wrinkling with yours. Some times the videos can deceive us
@artymaze
Жыл бұрын
Personally I don’t mind wrinkles as I can sand and get a smooth finish. Tim HOLTZ collage medium is extremely good but like you said a tad expensive x
