This is a dish we've all seen either on Biriyani or some other rice dish, tastes delicious and would 100% recommend it to any dish with spices!

Putting a little salt on the onions before frying not only makes the process significantly fast but adds flavour to the fried onions as well. As the salt absorbs the moisture from the onions it makes them fry quicker and the texture becomes crispier.

I like mixing the onions with a bit of corn starch or flour. Makes crispier without having to wait too long.

@@rzky3 I thought so. In my opinion, onion taste sweet when you fried it and shallots on the other side it has a toasty bittery salty taste and that's what makes fried shallots so popular among Indonesian cuisine because the flavor blend so well

In Norway, we put crispy fried onions on our hotdogs.

As an Egyptian, this is essential for koshary which is rice, chickpeas, pasta, fried onion, all in one dish topped with red sauce, vinegar, hot sauce and lemon

These on hot dogs are absolutely fire.

Here in Egypt we add it on top of koshari to add an extra crunch and it also adds extra flavour (well atleast my family does)

For my mom it’s a must to put these on top of biryani I don’t really like them so I just put lime and red onions in my haleem

My mum would fry a lot of onions so we can eat it with haleem, and u was impatient to even wait for the haleem to cool down, so i would just finish them like chips
