My late husband was a gifted cook/ chef. He taught me to make cocktail sauce using these same ingredients Plus a dash of Worcestershire. What a treasure, this simple recipe. Thank you for sharing. Plus, you can add extra or less of a preferred ingredient.

This is really, really good. To hell with buying cocktail sauce ever again. I probably ended up with 3 Tbsp of horseradish. If it doesn't make you go "Wow", then it's just sauce...

I hate to correct you, but horseradish does NOT last 'indefinitely'. After a few months it starts to lose it's heat. The good news? I've found that using a vac pack machine with a 'Ball jar' lid sealer counteracts that. (leaving it just like an unopened jar)

Why you can keep it in refrigerator only up to a week ? Ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice ( from a bottle)all these ingredients have a long shelf life, but mixed together only good for a week ? Why ?

Flour lasts months in the cupboard. So does sugar. Eggs over a month in the fridge. Butter lasts months. But mix them all together into cookie dough and it lasts only about a week before going moldy. Just the way it works. Maybe something to do with the pH? I don't know, I'm not a scientist. But if you want to keep it for months, go ahead. I've not had that luck.
