A word of caution: the "cumin" (тмин) is actually caraway. It will taste very wrong if you actually use cumin (зира) instead.

Here's a fun bit of info for whoever reads this: Back during the American civil war there were food shortages, naturally, and the men were so hungry that they dug up the dirt floor of the smoke sheds of the homesteads and boiled it. A smoke shed floor absorbs a lot of fat and grease from whatever carcass is being cured, so if you boil the dirt the fat will come floating to the top. And that's what they ate.

We in the US still use Fahrenheit and "Standard" (or whatever the hell we call it) unit of measurement. Because Metric and Celsius are too accurate, easy to use, and make too much damn sense. I love how different we are compared to everyone else but damn it when im working on shit and I need to do fractions in my head to figure out what size is bigger or smaller than "7/32" and do that sort of thing WITH EVERY WRENCH AND SOCKET thats when you realize maybe the rest of the damn world is on to something with this 10,11,12, etc size thing.

Well those are in lots of 60 and 24 and what not so it's more like the Americans than like metric.

I do, I was just stating that hours, minutes and seconds don't go in lots of 10 but also in other weird numbers so it's a bit like the Americans.
