Tips on image parameters: We're finding 1920px x 1080px is working best so far. If your images look nice and crisp when downloaded but look blurry when uploaded to Rise, try adding '_NOPROCESS_' at the beginning or end of the image file name. This stops Rise from compressing the image. Note that this may increase the file size and it also may not work for labelled graphics (labelled graphics must be at least 760px wide so Rise will automatically make them bigger if needed).

Thank you for this video, it actually helped me to solve an issue... I was trying to make images flow in a Rise Course, without the breaks. The 'no padding' option wasn't doing it. I didn't know the 'Block Entrance Animations'. Thank you, thank you! And the course, with the cartoon theme, is gorgeous!

Super inspirational! I like a lot of what Rise has to offer but that blocky look bothers me because it’s like holding up a big sign that says “Yep, I made this in Rise”. Why did I never think of joining forces between Canva to Rise? I will now 😊

Interesting idea which looks great visually! However, have you considered accessibility and how someone with a visual impairment would be able to access this type of course. A course like this which combines text and graphics within the same image depends on being able to see and read the images. I know alt text is available but it would be difficult to try and describe all of the visuals and the text within the alt text tags? Also a screen reader might struggle with this type of approach?

Hey Davy P! Yep, we certainly have. The intent of the video meant we stayed away from the details of accessibility, as well as an abundance of other things we could talk about. What's your tips for people to take action on if they do want to experiment with what we've shared about full width images and need to consider how to approach accessibility? Many people would find it helpful, no doubt, if you shared your specific tips as a further learning opportunity to our video. :)

I work in an organisation that has to comply with legislation relating to accessibility so could not use your approach. I feel that a hybrid approach would probably work best. I would use the full width images between the normal blocks to help break it up. More of a decorative approach rather than hosting the main content within the image. I like the use of things like the slanted lines etc (or possibly curved lines?) between blocks. I would create these in a graphics application and then insert them between blocks. This would give a similar effect but would still leave the content fully accessible to those who could not see it. Screen readers would pick this up.

Hey Davy P - I had the same concerns sadly (it’s why I prefer adapt or evolve to rise) I have managed to do some neat things with full width images as headers and footers to content though. Examples here ibb.co/T2z9nzT ibb.co/6nRQxsZ ibb.co/RSDbDD3 Great tip on the crop image though will try that😍

@@davyp550 I came here to say just that. As visually striking as it looks, the fact that it is not accessible makes me think twice about designing something such as this. It simply sends the wrong organizational message to people when we have inaccessible design. There is definitely room to make Rise more visually interesting through the clever use of image, such as using slanted lines to break the boxed look of Rise but as much as possible, as IDs, we should design with accessibility in mind.

@@OurPortlandLife Yes I think that is a much better approach to make your courses accessible. Use the graphics more as a decorative approach between the sections of information. The content is then fully accessible. But the courses are improved visually! I also use Adapt and prefer to use it when I need more flexibility over the control of images, colours and graphics!

Thanks for your kind words. 🤗 Good question. It's legible and functional but you do have to spend time testing to make it that way. E.g. font size.
