Can the door lock be installed at the top of the a door like this to prevent uncouth folks from placing items in the lock jamming it preventing it from closing?

Getting ready to do one of these. Do you use any silicone or other sealant around the bolts where they penetrate the door? Is it even worth worrying about?

I'd never thought of that. I don't think it's necessary in this case, and if you have to remove or adjust or if it slips, it's a big mess. I've done about 10 of these and never used such a thing so I'm sure you'll be good. Thanks for watching.
