These instructions were fantastic! I had to listen with volume down. Didn't need to hear it - the hands did all the talking - no words needed! Thank you!
Finally someone who shows the drilling process.
I have to say, you sir are one of few last mohicans left... Thinking and doing outside the box...every other videos I found were instructions on how to use the door kit. Corporations getting you to buy more for things you don't really need... But no, I have to money to buy any door kit just to make a hole in ONE door... Hats to you sir!
Thank you from New Zealand. Apparently the universe wants me to put handles in doors this month and thanks to this video I now know how.
You are the Bob Ross of doorknobs! :-) Great tutorial.

I'm installing my first slab door for my bathroom. Didn't realize so much work went into this, but it's a pretty straight forward. Excellent tip with the hole saw - I totally would have drilled straight through. Great tutorial - thank you very much!
No ifs no buts, perfect straight to the point video. No time wasted. Perfect.
great! I was looking for this sort of tutorial, not the one that you have to buy all the expensive tools! Thank you!

If you made a video on finance, we would all be millionaires tomorrow! Great video. My bathroom door now has a latch and a handle. Thank You.
i just successfully installed a new door handle and it looks and works perfect. thank you so much for explaining it so a true novice like me could accomplish this. have a great day!
Thank you so much for this. I have a $1000 door setup that's mostly installed, and I was NOT about to tear into that wood with guesswork. Now, I feel comfortable finishing this install, and I'll be able to tell an anxious woman that she can open her office for business. Thank you, again

Older post, but just have to ask, did it go smoothly with your installation of the $1k door?
Awesome guide! I like how you actually show each step through to completion instead of just saying "do this step" and theb cutting to the finished process. Other KZread tutorial makers should take notes.
Awesome tutorial and very informative! Mellow voice and relaxing music music background too! Haha. Thank you sir!
As a single young woman who has moved into an 1800s farmhouse needing renovation I really appreciate this video

@disablingmaple2592 - 1800s farmhouse, that is some serious renovation task (and costs 💵) 😊
Never used a chisel before and I had found that most of the videos for installing door locks used a special tool - tool a dive a chiseled it out! Thanks for the explanation
Brilliant. I found some videos where they showed how to hang the door but only went as far as the hinges. Nothing on how to make the hole and put the door knob on. This perfectly explains it. You are a very patient man. Especially when you are chiselling out the plate.

That looked to be a very sharp chisel from the UK! 🇬🇧
Thanks for this video, I just installed new doors and they came with the standard rounded edges for the plate and my plates are square...I feel confident I can fix it now :)
Very helpful and way more clear than other videos about the same project. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video, someone charge us more than what we paid for the doors so now my husband & I going to do this for the remaining doors of our house 😊

Great video, showing all the steps. Although I think your door was wood-lined but the core was chipboard ( I may be mistaken though) judging by the drilled out material. I have fitted these into solid wood doors here in the UK by drilling three holes, one at 15mm for the knob turn bar and two 10mm for the securing screws. rather than that massive hole which may weaken an engineered door. The two 10mm holes gives some leeway for alignment.

What you say is true but there are some more expensive handles with different construction that need the interior space,. These handles I am talking about a fire rated. Also some Schlage handles need the full hole.
Thanks bud, you made my day I was lost until I found your video
You possess a rare gift. Nothing wasted, no mixed words. Bravo.
This helped today. Thanks so much for making and posting this!
A lot more work than I expected but thank you. Looks like I have to buy some tools
Love the explanation it’s very detailed now I’ll try and do mine. Thank you
Well done. No needless extra talking.
This is the first time I have to cut the holes to install a new knob assembly. My friend has an antique door, but the lock and knob are totally worn out and he doesn't have the patience, time, or money (hire a locksmith) to get it functional again. So, he asked me to just install a new knob! It was a solid wood door and though I knew the instructions were pretty explicit, I still got up at 5 am to check out u-tube! I am glad I landed on your video! The close-up shots were great and your step by step instructions were perfect. I would have had a little trickier time as my hole saw is shallow, so I think I may go to the hardware store and purchase a deeper one for this job! Aside from measuring accurately, I am a bit concerned about keeping the saw level as I cut and not cutting on an angle when I do the hole for the latch assembly (there isn't much room for error there)! I feel a lot more confident than I did when I first opened the package with the new doorknob! Thanks, so much!!!

Susan Golden How did the job go? I have an antique door as well. Its a pain in the azs because the door is too thick for the mosern knobs . If u look around, u should be able to find one nade for old , thick doors. Hope it goes/ went well
Thanks man! Got a punch list tomorrow lol needed a refresher 😂
I like how you explain every step of the way, it's just the right speed for a dummy like me.
Great video, no nonsense straight to the point.
Great video! Explained and shown in detail, in easy to understand language.
Thank you so much for the simple and clear instructions.
very nice i was wondering if anyone knocked out the job with the door already hung. Makes it easy to lines up the lock assembly. And that chisel job was good.
Smooth (laid-back) narrative voice
Thank you for this video. I need to drill a new hole on my door here in Montreal.
Great instructional video. You did a wonderful job. Thank you.
Thanks for this video. I may be having to learn to do this myself..... and buy that tools are needed..... as the handyman never showed up today.... Only need 9 door knobs done and the hinges notched out as well. 🙄😂
Thank you! You made it simple and I learned some things!
nice background track 🔥 i am going to give this a go myself next week - got a door blank so will be watching this video again 👍

Great Job on tutorial !! 👏
Perfect video clear and concise
Good job man. It so easy to understood how u made it happen
It was cut by a gimlet. I understood the government had the gimlet that cut it. The hole had been tampered with by cutting it, so as to make it appear larger on the outside of the box.
Great video,,,,,,,, thanks for the help!!!!!!
