Hey Joolz! I am the Bob from Bits and Bobs. The best cheese in the world is Cornish Davidstow! Buy some in any supermarket. It will blow your taste buds and your mind!! And stuff French cheeses. We have beat them in sooo many competitions over recent years!

Last Time when visiting London I found The British cheesees at Borough market. They are fantastic, as good as The French or Italian cheesees, or Even better. Greetings from Finland!
Oh I LOVE these films! Just discovered you today. When I saw the statue of Samuel Johnson was reminded coming to London with a brand new passport from Boston in Winter 1992 during a tense time. For some reason, the airport police did not "take" to me when I told them my "purpose of visit" was to follow in the footstpes of Boswell and Johnson. On my way BACK to Boston, two new airport police asked me about my "associates" Boswell and Johnson. Argh. I miss London so much, this is such vicarious fun. You are charming!
10 out of 10 for production! Great editing.

Joolz! You must do musical episodes for the coming Christmas. We absolutely loved your previous Christmas episodes.
Unlike Monty Python's Cheese Shop, there was no shortage of fermented curd in the various emporia. An excellent review.

I can't imagine what life would be like without blue cheese.
Being a massive cheese lover, your program was a revelation, and no doubt will take my addiction to the next level. (I'm a big fan of the blue cheeses). Must go there's a Stilton in the fridge calling me.
Thanks for this interesting video Joolz and team. I burst out laughing after seeing why Joolz said "...don't mention Eric Clapton!😄 ....." I admit I have similar thoughts about cheese to Joolz, and he had my sympathies while consuming it all 🤢
Your videos are always such fun...they almost make me want to return to the Smoke. But I left when I was 26 and, now at 73, I'm used to peace and quiet in rural Devon. So I'll just live the urban life vicariously!
Congrats on this absolutely fabulous cheese tour of London. What an eye-opener! I would never have thought that you can actually buy Belper Knolle in London!!! Amazing… it‘s still an insider tip in Switzerland from where it originates, and it is available in London…. How about that! Big thumbs-up Joolz and thanks for your great videos!

When I sold cheese in Switzerland I met some of the guys who make it at Jumi. And they actually own and run the shop in Borough Market. All really nice people!
Just spent three days in London on the front end of a European trip with my wife and daughters. We intentionally selected an Air BnB in Southwark so we would only be a few blocks away from Borough Market - what a treasure that market is, needless to say, we never went hungry and got to try some of this amazing cheese. Cheers!
I love all the cheese lore and how fiercely into it cheese folk are! The Science, Art and Poetry of Spoiled Milk! Just awesome!
I had no idea London had such a cheese history!
After watching this, I was driven to have a thick slice of Canadian cheddar on a chunk of baguette. Yummy! Now, if I ever get across the pond again, I will definitely have to do a cheese tour in London. Cheers from Canada!
London and cheese 🧀! Two of my favourite things. Thanks Joolz! (If you want a gateway into blue cheese, lightly mix some with mascarpone. You will die of deliciousness)
Beautiful video Joolz. Londoners are so fortunate to have the variety of cheese shops and types of cheese available to them.
Joolz, as a committed cheesehead, I both envy your experience on this fromage fantasy and wonder how you were able to masticate your way to the end! Another excellent video, kind sir!
This has to be the cheeziest of Joolz' videos! Absolutely brilliant as usual! So glad I have a block of Emmental within easy reach as I watch this 🤪
A great venture into the London cheese market, Joolz. Very interesting to see how some cheeses are made, indeed. Borough Market is abundant with the variety of cheese from around the country and beyond. Yes, Michael certainly has that certain Claptonian look about him, and he'll be the 'Cream' of the cheese experts. Many thanks for this showing
a brilliant video, as they all are. this one however is close to my heart having worked in the Dairy Industry for years. Looking forward to the book being released.
I really enjoyed this video, shame it was short. I love cheese but when you see these shops with so many different varieties, it makes you realise just how few you've tried. The cheese toasties on the market looked lovely and made me quite hungry for cheese. Thanks for making this Joolz.
If there’s one person who could make cheese even more interesting it’s got to the man Sir Joolz. Superb Joolz. 😊🏴☠️
One of Julian's best and most intriguing episodes. Absolutely mouth watering.
You know, I don't disagree that this was a very appropriate video for you to do! Great video! Thank you for pushing through after you thought that you could not eat another bite of cheese. I didn't notice you losing your bread. Certainly that is better than losing your lunch!
Blessed are the cheesemakers - classic!!!!
Absolutely delightful! Thanks for this wonderful cheese tour Joolz
Blessed are the cheese makers! And the farmers too!! 😂
I always get cheese in Borough Market. My favourite is West Country cheddars.
I never thought you would get through the entire episode without asking who cut the cheese. Congrats.

Being a senior clerk in a cheese shop, one of my duties was to initiate new hires by coaxing them to put their faces right near a nicely puffed-up loaf of Danish Esrom whilst I cut it open. That never got old.
Well Joolzie , I was hesitant about watching this episode because it was just about cheese BUT I have to admit it was very enjoyable and educational . Great job as always and great pick for background music. I think I'll go listen to Monty Pythons Cheese Shop skit .
That Michael dude certainly looked after you Joolz. Top bloke.

Spiffing adventures eating cheese well done Joolz
As a vegetarian who loves cheese waaaay too much, I loved this video. Hello from California.
Cheese has existed for many thousands of years. Cheers Julz
Blessed are the cheese makers 😜 just rewatched that movie just a few days ago!
I love a thin slice of blue vein on a nicely done steak so it melts and is truly delicious.
Oh my what a wonderful tour of all that delicious cheese. This is THE tour for me and a few fellow cheeseholics. Had some Roquefort earlier but after that, I need to make a dash to the fridge!
Love all of your videos but the London Cheese one was fantastic. So interesting. I absolutely love Kappacasein and the raclette and the toastie. Can't wait to go there again one day when I come to London again, and try even more cheeses as per your video. Marvellous episode!! Can't wait to get a hold of your new book also - will it be out in Australia?? xx 🤩🙌
Joolz goes gastronomic. What a delight!
Another great episode Joolz. I can't wait to see what your new book is all about. 💖
I love the Borough Markets , great video about the cheese of London 👍👍👍
A full video about cheese!!! This is liking watching an adult movie!!! I don't think I blinked!!!
Bought the best cheese I have ever eaten in Borough Market. It was from the West Country..
My mother came from the Southwark/Borough area and lived there before and during WWII. She always lamented how the market area was so run down in the 1980's but the last 20 years has seen it go very up-market. Not sure I prefer the new market, but hey... Progress.
You’ve got a BOOK coming out!? Wow, the top of my wish list. By sheer coincidence I was snacking on Gorgonzola when I started watching this fantastic video. The last time I visited London was the autumn before Covid and I had a good look around Borough Market.

Cheers Joolz, so many new places for me to visit next time I come down to LDN to see my daughter. 🧀🧀🧀
Mouth wateringly excellent programme. Bravo!
My God, it is incredible that you would ask if i've ever wondered about how to make cheeze! The li'l Mrs and I were just speaking about that.
I'm never wanted to eat some cheese more than I do right now.. lol! 🍴😊
I love this video! What a fabulously educational piece of London tourism. I am so impressed! Please do more videos like this. How about sausages? Pies? Ciders? I love cheese. If I ever end up on a desert island, I'm bringing the cheese!
This one was your cheesiest video to date. I'm sure I wasn't the only one to type that, but I could not resist. Hope all is well in Joolz Guides land!
I am reminded of the Monty Python cheese shop sketch
Dang his friend looks like Clapton. Interesting video as always.
This video made me SO hungry!
Oh Gromit, I do love this episode of Sir, Joolz!
Joolzie, living my cheese fantasy. Mouth is watering now. Cheers! 🧀🍷🇬🇧🧀🍷🇬🇧🧀🍷🇬🇧
You looked just like me when I'm in London! You dress better, but eating a lot of cheese is what we have in common. And I also sample a lot of ale... Maybe a bit more than is recommended, but there you are. Thank you for this, it brightened my dark, snowy and cold evening in Sweden. Hang on, we can change Sweden to Snowdon now, the mountain is getting it's proper name (Yr Wyddfa) back! Snowdon is Sweden's name in the winter now.
Nice one Joolz. My best mate lives near Borough Market and I’m a big cheese fan. I know all the places you’ve visited. I like cheese that moves
That was a great video Joolz. I enjoyed the cheese trail! 😋
Do more episodes like this! Promote British goods!!!! Next? English Wine! I'd watch that.
My late brother, Del, used to call this stuff "bung 'ole." (I wonder why?) Personally, I do not like cheese, but Joolz videos are something that I absolutely l do love to see. I will look for the book, because I just know anything "Joolz" related, will be so interesting.
Well I was just there last week and enjoyed some of the wonderful cheese at Borough market
Just got home in the US from London, great city and lots to do, and it smells like a renaissance festival.
I was so excited to see your new video Joolz - we were in Borough market last weekend celebrating a friends birthday and popped into the cheese stalls! Brilliant video as always 👌
great film. amazing that there is a cheese market in London which am sure all good cheese afficionados flock to. one place you will always see a queue is outside a good cheese shop.
Tremendous Joolz! I am coming back to London and eat some cheese! Inspired.
Cheesetastic Joolz!
Wow, well done on eating that much cheese. And good luck with the book. You deserve a bestseller
I stayed in Borough High Street three years ago and I'm now ashamed that I bought only one block of Stilton at Borough Market! That's it, I'm going back to London for my very own cheese week next year.
Cream? Well Michael is certainly in the right business! Outstanding video once again Jules!!!
Well done British Cheese.......Great content thanks Joolz
I was watching another history of England video, and a person's death was referred to as, "He's bought a wee bit of land." This made such incredible sense as, perhaps, the best way to refer to someone's death. And that is why I enjoy the British, they will say a phrase, and suddenly the whole world makes a bit more sense. Could, you refer to death with the phrase, "She's bought herself a bit of land....." in an upcoming video ?
7:08 That made me ponder about the endless universe.
Makes me want a pint and a cheese toasty at the Ole Mitre! Love London town.

I used to work near Borough Market, loved the specialty merchants there.
Je mange le fromage dans la biblioteque. I love cheese and Joolz on Sundays! Great vid. ❤
I like cheeeeese so much and this film!!!
I adore cheese and this was excellent 😊 I’m gonna have to make a visit to Borough Market very, very soon. Thanks Joolz you cracked it again 😃👍🏻
eating that much cheese either binds me up, or rivers will be flowing, I wish Joolz good luck
I've heard about England's cheese. Excellent video.
Oh, wow, now I want some cheese! Love the video.
fantastic, am heading to borough next week
Really exceptional episode, Joolz. I love the Gorgonzola song, btw! Couple notes. Listen, that fact about the UK government basically shutting down all the cheese production in 1939 (?) over there. Whoa. That decree must have been for the war effort. They needed all the fresh milk, presumably. But in effect, it suppressed an entire native industry going back to Roman times certainly & likely well before that, at least 2,000 years. That is a staggering step to take. Just as a practical matter, it meant there would be no cheese in the years ahead and a severe erosion of the knowledge base required to resume production. Makes me want to read more about the WWII measures related to food. Second, there has been a legit cheese scene here in the San Francisco Bay area for decades, with a number of old independent cheese shops that sell cheeses from all over the world. So I've got to disagree with you, Joolz. A good Stilton is really, really tasty, tangy & rich. Yum! Awesome in potato dishes and even on baked potatoes. Lastly, as California teens in the '70s, we'd watch Monty Python late at night on the public TV station. We thought all the cheeses named in the Cheese Shop skit were just made-up names. And I am still keeping an eye peeled for some Venezuelan beaver cheese! Thanks for all you do, Joolz. 😊

The UK did make some cheese during the war, it was called "The National Cheese" a young a mild like industrially produced cheddar style. Rationing was 1 ounce (25gr) per person per week and that continued until 1952. All other milk that had been used for cheese was turned into milk powder. Much quicker to produce, no need to mature it and it was much easier to store and transport. I've spoken to people who were kids in the war and it was common for the family to save up their rations just to buy a bif piece once a month!

I would suggest you watch The Wartime Farm with Ruth Goodman, Peter Ginn and Alex Langlands. There are other topics mentioned as well, but it is largely about food production.
Heaven ❤, cheese, wine, Jools and London. What’s not to love.😊
Great walk! Thanks a lot
I used to make cheese here in Italy a few years ago (Taleggio cheese) Loved every second of this vid .. thanks mate👍

I’m craving a tangy, creamy bit of Taleggio right now.
Ah I miss the variety of cheeses you can get in the UK. I can get some of them over here in Cyprus but it's not the same. Of course Cypriot cheeses are yummy too, especially Halloumi! I couldn't have tried so many cheeses as you did, I'd have had migraines for weeks lol Another great vid & music too ;-)
Excellent. I’m a lot wiser man after that
Now I’ve got that Gorgonzola cheese song stuck in my head lol
That was a brilliant video, very informative, Herefordshire Hop is one of my fave cheeses
The best cheese i have ever had in my life was from a tiny unheard of farm in France. Three of us went over there for work reasons and all three of us agreed that it was the best cheese we had ever tasted in our lives. It was so special.
I fancy a cheese toastie!😜
I do love a bit of Wensleydale.
That French Langres the lady mentiones, is my favourite but I will check out the british ones one day. There is also a good cheesemonger in greenwich
This video is just terrific!
