In this video, I'm showing you how I built a wooden Serving Tray and added an element of art to it by cutting in a map with my Glowforge laser and adding blue epoxy. This was a fun project and I love the way it came out.

Great Dutch beer on a beautiful Texas tray!
I just came across your channel by looking for how-to concrete countertop videos...then this was posted while watching Outdoor Kitchen Part 6! As a web map developer and completely noob woodworker, I am in LOVE with this video. Subscribed, liked, notified!

@@AprilWilkerson how much did the graphic designer work cost you to make the lake map file?
Looks good!!
Love it!
We can only watch and drool with envy with some of these projects for the past 2 years. Can't afford any of these CNC, Glowforge etc. This is very entertaining and informative though if not practical like what you used to craft.

Many enjoy my Channel who don't do woodworking at all, but view it to see what I'm up to next. The entertainment factor. I still use drills and saws but view the CNC and Glowforge as just another tool in my Shop that has its uses.
Thanks for sharing April. The tray turned out great. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍👍👋👋

It’s called a laser. You don’t need a glow forge brand. There are many others on the market for less money.

This looks so cool! I grew up on the Trinity River and I’ll have to keep this in mind.
That turned out really great! I am a GIS Analyst professionally and LOVVVVVE anything map related! Nice work, as always April!
Tray came out great. Lasers are great thing to have, but unless you're well off and like play with wood, or you're trying to start a business, which probably wouldn't start with a $6000 laser that I have to learn how to use, or expand your business, it's just a cool tool I wish I had. Already have a CNC router that I haven't quite mastered yet. It would be nice though, and the discount is a good thing!
Awesome as always (but a wind screen would be helpful)
April this looks fantastic. I'm surprised you didn't do your famous happy dance lol. Keep the great videos coming Thanks for sharing and God bless
Turned out great April, looks awesome! 😍👍🏻👊🏻
Excellent idea 💡 congratulations
Use it to make a sign for your pavilion
Hi April, I stand amazed! You have such incredible skills, and your serving tray is a work of art, it's so beautiful, I'd hang it on my wall as a showpiece! This laser technology, is something else! A great entertaining video, and I love your commentary💗🌹
Awesome project. In addition three things I like in the same video: woodworking, April Wilkerson, and LASERS (frikin lasers LOL)
Cool. It almost looks like a Lichtenberg Figure :)
Cool tray!!!
Nice tray and a perfect way to serve that beer from the Netherlands. Enjoy.

Wonderful tray. Audio is sometimes distorted having a ‘heavy’ breather or wind hitting the mic. Or am I the only one hearing that? Keep these vlogs coming April. Adore them. ❤️🙏🏼

Hello friend,, like woodworking 👍👍👍🤝🤝
Love the tray...thanks to this vid, I now know how to get to the "SHED"...be there soon to visit you and ur mom. BUT, just a suggestion...instead of using screws on the handles, how bout using glued in dowels to secure it....no worries about splitting then. For your mom, I'm her oldest friend on FB.

April, you're kidding ! all this time following your videos, then seeing you with the "tool time guys", and you live here in Canyon Lake ! My wife is on her 2nd Silhouette and "hinted" about that Glowforge thingy... hope she doesn't run into you at Brookshire Brothers !! Keep up the good work !

So the Glowforge requires exhaust ventilation. What do you do with the exhaust?

Came out great! Without a glow forge, you could do a V Carve with a clearance bit and fill it in with epoxy as well
Are you changing your video release date from Sunday to Friday April? Or is this a bonus video for this week?
Another awesome video
Espectacular April, pero me da mucha pena que poco a poco, por estas fantasticas máquinas, se esté perdiendo la profesión de muchos oficios, y con ello a los grandes profesionales y grandes maestros----
I’ve been watching your channel for a long time and had no idea you were at Canyon Lake! I’ve been teaching at Smithson Valley MS for 14 years. Small world!

That is awesome!
Looks like "April and the Last Triton" :P haha
The Glowforge looks like it'd be very useful for cutting out router templates for flush cutting to. The CNC just seems like it's too big and you have to spend a while fastening things down whilst with the Glowforge you just place in the wood and looks like it's done as fast or faster.
Muito top parabéns show de bola 🇧🇷👊👍💯
I wish I had a laser. Id make my self a wicked retirement sign/sign for my nonprofit.
Anyone else think the lake looks similar to the map in the movie 'Raya and the Last Dragon'?
Awesome, did you repurpose the cut-out piece for something?
