    When u want some "extreme bass" I recommend four-layer voice coil. Two-layer is better for full range and midbass speakers.

    No not really some small speakers can have large voice coils and some large speakers can have small voice coils, it all depends on what that speaker was designed to do.

    Well I don't really remember because it's been so many years ago. But if u are going to try this , just use the thickest wire that can fit in the gap without rubbing..

    I'm all for people trying to make the best out of what they have, I salute you for that, but just one an important tip: Always test the speakers impedance before you connect it to your amp, otherwise this could kill your amp, thus ohms law is the only thing to worry about the most. One thing to remember the speaker voice coil resistance will vary through the frequency range, and could drop well below 4 ohms at certain points, since most modern amps will drive speakers between 4-8 ohms and older amps 6-12 and 8-16

    Well it would all depend on the size of the wire you are using. And it was a 6 inch speaker and a 1inch voice coil

    This not really 'increasing' the bass of a speaker. What you are doing is using thicker wire for the coil, which increases the pistonic mass of the speaker, thus making the speaker less sensitive to high frequencies as you have lowered its resonant frequency. This creates an illusion that you have increased the bass. Judging by the thicker wire gauge you used for the 1 inch coil, it would have dropped the impedance down considerably. Let's say for example this was an 8 Ohm speaker originally. With your new thicker coil wire it may have dropped down to 2 Ohms. With this in mind, you are drawing 4x the amount of current at the same volume setting as if you were using an 8 Ohm speaker, thus making it appear that your speaker is 'louder'. So, overall, not really 'increasing' the bass, just an illusion that you are.

    Nice observation, but if u are limited buy power from your amp, This will make a big difference. Oh and it wasn't a bass speaker to begin with .

    I mean you are right cuz its lower ohm it WILL draw more power and be louder but your amp will die in like 5mins

    What a liar. That coil will barely produce any bass at all, much less extreme bass. Lying to get views.

  • @diyking9k74

    @diyking9k74

    Actually it’s not a lie. The thicker the wire on the voice coil the more bass you will get. And the original wire on the voice coil was much smaller. Matter of fact it wasn’t even a bass speaker until I upgraded it.
