I have found that when using still water sometimes cheap disposable plastic shot glasses can be cut to form the barer around the base. and using sticky tack or blue tack works great for making the barrier water tight.

Only revision I would make (my whole army uses bases inspired by this video) remove the tape after an hour of the still water sitting. It will hold itself after an hour, and if you wait too long to take it off, it will peel some of your ground away

I love it. This will make an awesome base for my Eldar Pathfinders :) Thanks for the tutorial. Very simple but hell of effective. Bravo! I wanted to try out the Still Water to do fire/lava bases for Fire Dragons but I think I'll start with the swamps. Thanks for sharing.

Love the tutorial! But I'm curious. How would you go about painting a skull above on the cork and how you would paint it in the water area.

have you ever tried this with a models feet under the water?? I love this technique but I have about 200 plus ork models already sitting on their bases so im wondering if it'll strip the paint off the models if they have parts in the "water".

If anything it's more likely to seal the paint I think. I used it already on couple of models like Hydra, it's tail was drowned in it and it was perfectly fine.

I bought them in home supplies shop, they are actually placemats so they are more expensive than they should be but I couldn't be bothered with finding anything cheaper at that time :p

I know that the Woodland Scenics "Realistic Water" is not compatible with PVA glue. What brand is the Still Water that you use, and have you had any side effects from using it with PVA glue? By the way, I love the video, and I can't wait to try it out!

Nice tutorial. Wish I saw this before I did my swamp bases for my Plague drones. I waited 24 hrs for the still water to dry and the edges look terrible. How long did you wait before you pulled the tape off?

Hi, as mentioned in tutorial I pulled the tape after 8 hours when liquid was hard enough not to leak bot soft enough to be removed with tape.

utubetonight1 Just drill a hole in the model's foot, stick a rod in it, drill a hole through the cork, put some glue on the rod and on the other foot and stick it to the base ;)

I like the overall result of the base but I find the chosen colors to be rather horrid. No offense. The tutorial was fantastic though, thumps up for that.
