Awesome homemade base. Looks as good as any produced base. Also your voice is cool, you sound like a friendly vampire...
Love the way you start this video. "In my opinion it kinda sucks". Brilliant introduction.
Base @ 7:15 was perfect. I would have left it alone from there honestly. There was zero need for a BRIGHT green piece of "metal" on it or the rust coloring. The base would take away from the model but you did give me a LOT of reason to use corkboard for basing now.
Awesome base and tutorial! Thanks for all your vids. At first I was confused by the green you used on the metal but it looks fantastic. Your work is an inspiration for all of us.
That was the coolest base I have ever seen, and that was also a nicely painted dreadnought!
really enjoying your tutorials, they are an inspiration to me thankyou
I loved this base, great result. Thanks! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Stumbled across your channel today...I am stating up a Vampire Counts army and will use your basing techniques as inspiration. Thanks - you do awesome work!
Really creative, great work thanks for sharing.
Wow, great work. Thank you for making these videos.
When I first saw the cork I had my doubts, but the texture is perfect. I'll have to try to sneak that into the bases of some of my models.
oh my god.excellent work.love your tut and every was a highlights to see it
You are one creative artist man,, love your videos. excellent tutorials
it looks great
This is pretty nice looking. I might try this.
Very nice base and easy to do, 10 out of 10
How could 18 people not like this? Awesome base!

18 ppl hate green i guess
Amazing base that shows what you can do with a great imagination.
IMO the cork plates with large parts of cork are the best
That´s awesome man! Way bettr than most produced ones. That´s a lot for sharing. I plan on shamelessly copying it lol
Fantastic. Very inspirational.
another great video tutorial awesome
I bow to you sir. Well played, well played indeed
very nice conversion, nice work ;)
Very good idea! thank you, You are an absolute master!
fantastic tutorial thanks for making :) what's the "pigment medium" you use to mix with the pigments for the rust effects ?
You are very talented
That was the Best 11:00 Minutes I've spent on KZread ... F*****G amazing!
Love your conversions, basing, and general artistic sense. Keeps my mind flowing with ideas and possibilities. I know you do air brushing but have you ever thought of doing a video 100% by hand? Besides Base coating of course.
Total Awesomeness
Very impressive!
Amazing base, and also your English is definitely improving!
Matt is matt and satin is semi-matt. The effect differ a lot. Metallics covered in Matt turns to grey, using a doesn't change metallic effect
I love your blatant points. "In my option, the dreadnought base really sucks." hahaha. The polish accent makes it sound even better!
Excellent work as always. What were you using for the screws and nuts?
My god man, you're good.
Totally amazing tutorial. Where did you get the octagon straw ?
Very cool tutorial. you move so quickly haha. but seriously, thanks for sharing :)
Excellent work, as always. Do you recommend anything other than cork to make the concrete out of?
Were do you get the hex tubing from?
Hey! Great video, as always. Can I ask where you get your cork plating from?
Great stuff! What thickness of cork do you use if I may ask? 2mm?
Great tutorial as usual! When can we expect your next video (dreadnought)?
Superb Video! Where does i get that screws Pastics?
The dreads arms, are they forge world or conversions? Great tutorial look forward to the next,
Amazing I'm subbing
could you please make a how to use Vallejo Pigments video, i recently got some and have tried to use them with white spirits and rubbing alcohol, the rubbing alcohol seams to work better but it will still rub of, i know i need to seal it in a varnish but i feel that the spray of the varnish will blow of the pigments.
There's three new flyers coming. Space Marine, Necron and Ork. 'Eavy Metal's yellow ork plane is particularly impressive. I really hope that will be your next project.
Time to tear apart that old cork notice board!
very good video
Amazing! As always...)
Thanks dude :)
Hi Buypainted! I was hoping to try out some of your techniques so I purchased dome cork board today. The type I purchased was approximately 4 to 5 mm thick, and doesn't quite look right. I was wondering what the thickness of the cork you use is?
I'm curious where you get the Styrene rods from for the screws and nuts. Thanks!
Love it
We miss you, hope to see more vids soon! Hope everything is ok!
Потрясающий результат! Очень красиво смотрится. К сожалению, в нашем Ярославле пробку для моделирования не купить, поэтому такая красота мне не доступна((
thank you for video)
Great job man! Awesome and really creative, also very inspiring!! can i useregular acrylic spray cans instead of a airbrush?

+Febo you sure can - if you make sure its matte, otherwise itll come out glossy and be hard to paint over
Would it look the same if I used balsa wood?
Also, Whats the tool at the bottom at 3:16? Where did you get it from? Looks like a great tool to shape, position stuff etc...
ey man. I follow all your tutorials and they are great. can you please help me to find the octogonal plasticard tubes? I can't find them in the web, can I find it very useful to create screws. keep working on these fantastic tutorials!
nice
what is a good substitution for water effect?
Great tutorial. What glue is that with the long metal nozzle?

hot glue probably
i - fuck... - love - this - tutorial!!!!
wow. wow. wow.
holy shit thats beautiful..
Is it possible that you could show how to make a dessert base?
I followed all the instructions. But when I prime the cork and put the grey ( with a brush) I can still see the various pieces. How much color do you use to make the surface look even?
What gravel do you use btw, I use GW stuff but there are too big rocks in there and it makes it look crap sometimes.
Can you make a tutoriel for bases for dark eldar ? Your videos are magnificent ! :)
whats the difference between Matt varnish and satin varnish?
in what ratio did you dissove the powder?
Can I ask what type of cork it is please? Is it untreated cork?
They have large circle flat bases, maybe easier to just buy some for stock for making these instead of standing them down.
What size and is it the SOLID STYRENE PENTAGON & HEXAGON ROD. They have 5 different sizes...Awesome video...Thank you.
I notice you use alot of pigment and medium. How is that different than just using rust colored paint? Is it a different texture when it dries? Cool base.
Its Vallejo Pigment Medium :)
Wath is the name of your cold greys ? ( sorry i'm french and i dont speak good English ^^)
cool
i love when the glue coors

gdzie można kupic taką posypke?
Dzien dobry mam takie pytanie skad pan wzial ten kork?
The base turned out quite nice. But I'll have to disagree with you in regards to the original base. I like it and think it has a lot of character and detail
I found it that was a pain but I found the hexagon tubing on hobbylinc's website
How did you install the miniature on it ? did you pin it ?
"I primed my fingers with Vallejo black primer" :)
You should come back :)
from Plastruct
Was that just a regular hot glue gun that you used? Or was there a special type of glue you used in it? Thanks, I love your videos!

I think he used normal glue, there is no need for special.

did you find any? if not they sell cork tiles in most office supply stores. They are used for bulletin boards so will be in that section of the store. usually come in a pack of 4 sheets of 12"x12"

Any store that sells floor covers will have cork floors. Flooring in general seems to be a great source for all sorts of things when it comes to terrain building.
Nice, but broken concrete isn't that dark. It's very light grey in fact.
@CruelusRex

MarkNiceyard Ashes, blood, dust etc. would make the concrete way darker. It's all a matter of where you want the base to be "based" on.
Sorry, I'm not planning at this moment
I would love to do some of this, pity it is so damn expensive :/
@ZoBo_

are you saying 40k's expensive (well, yeah, it totally is, but it's worth it if you enjoy it), or that making a cool base like this is expensive?...if it's just the base materials you're worried about, well, I've just recently started working on some bases like this myself, and I've been quite surprised by how affordable it can be! ...for the cork, I just bought a cheap 3'x2' cork pin/notice board, only cost me $15, and that'll be enough cork for an army's worth of bases!...other than that, you just need some paints, which you'll probably have already if you're making a base for a model...as for the metal parts he added for this one, you'd probably have hundreds of things lying around the house, that when chopped up, glued on, and painted, will work great as rubble/pipes/metal plates/etc just use a bit of creative thinking, and you'll be able to make bases just as cool as this one for virtually nothing
Mortimer, to ty ?
why is the scrap metal green?
