How to make a Stitching Pony for Leather Work | Build This Essential Tool

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I finally decided to make a Stitching Pony to hold leather projects while hand stitching them. This is going to work awesome and be a huge help when I'm sewing my leather projects. There are many different designs out there but this is my take on the stitching pony. I made mine to be able to work with or without a T-Track system. I even made some homemade wooden knobs. It came out great.

make center swivel so then you can put several in line and clamp long projects. Make arms flare into bigger jaws. good job!

Nailed that one Jeff!! Love the boiled Linseed oil patina as well... Reminds me of my younger fishing days when I would tie my own flies, I used a miniature version of this vise design... LOL!

Awesome! Thank you. An even smaller version of this does sound quite handy. Maybe I'll make a small one too.

That turned out great Jeff. I like the color too. Now that you have it you won't ever have a leather project again. So you would be better off sending it to me. 😆🤣😂

Definitely have to make one of those! Without the knobs on the bottom you could have it between your legs and sit down while you stitch!

Yes! You could just leave out the knobs, or take them off and use it like that.

You can make the jaws longer and make the base a little longer for your legs to be the clamp as you sit
