How to make ● a simple SODA BOTTLE HUMANE MOUSETRAP (that works!)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is another of my best and easiest homemade humane mouse traps!. Easy to build, easy to bait, easy to release and best of all, it's humane and there's no springs or levers to wind up or load! The mouse or vole cannot escape or chew his way out of this mouse trap. Mice are not harmed in any way during capture. As a matter of fact, the mouse and vole remain very calm as you'll see in the video since there is no slamming doors or snapping latches to scare him! Mice can be released calmly and easily without fear of getting bitten even by the most "fearful of mice" person!! Simple operation makes this diy mouse vole trap fun and easy to build and adjust for easy trapping and best of all easy release. Just use a dab of peanut butter to bait the trap. It's the best do it yourself humane live release mouse vole trap you'll find! A cola, pop or soda bottle and a few other common items is all you'll need. I'll be building a humane squirrel trap next so you can capture and release squirrels easily too so subscribe and don't miss my upcoming "diy humane squirrel trap". Thanks for watching.

I found that there is no need to drill any holes at all! Wood screws screw right into the wood and if you heat the paper clips they slide right through the plastic lid and the same for the clothes hanger piece, it can be heated and melts right through the bottle. It was easier for me than breaking out the drill and cut construction time to less than 10 minutes. Also, alternatively to using a clothes pin I used a paper clasp. Same concept but more available since I didn't have a clothes pin. Those are my tweaks to this design. :)

I just saw the most horrible thing on a homemade electric mouse trap video... it took forever for the animal to die. If it wasn't sad enough, the comments under there enraged me! I don't understand that need for cruelty. So... I'm grateful there's people like you around sharing creative and harmless ways to solve that same problem. Thanks.

Thanks for the excellent design and sharing the video. I built my own and tried this out: Night 1: the mouse took the bait, but then chewed through the base of the plastic bottle to escape! Night 2:I used a tougher plastic bottle and reinforced the base with a piece of round tupperware that fortunately fitted tightly around it. The mouse took the bait but then managed to escape back through the entrance, as the cap wasn't held in place firmly enough. Perhaps my coat hanger was not of good enough quality! Night 3: With a reinforced bottle and a reinforced cap (I stacked some weights behind it) I trapped the mouse and released it to some fields a couple of miles away!

I built this mouse trap and caught the mouse in our house on the first night! It is a little bit tricky to get the bottle cap to set flat against the bottle opening when it is in the "closed" position, but that might have something to do with the shape of the bottle I used (a plastic Coke bottle). That is not a complaint, it is just a feature that you have to get right. Anyway, the mouse was healthy and alive, and we released him in a field to live out the rest of his days. Thanks, Chris!

I added to your design by gluing pieces of wood to the base of the 2x4 extending out under the bottle. These were added to keep the apparatus upright if the mouse gets active while in the bottle. On one of these, I added another piece of wood which acts to stabilize the cap. I don't know how to upload a picture of it, so I hope I explained it well...
