How To Make A Pizza Pizza Peel - Woodworking Project
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
It's a pizza peel, but at least 50% more pizza than the next leading peel. A christmas present for my sister that I then got jealous of and had to make my own

Great as usual.
GreatVideo! I do appreciate the learning opportunity from your teaching opportunity........ 🤣Thanks mate
Good catch! I just got my first spoke shaves from MTC, looking forward to trying them out on something like this
I think you left the handle out because you like solving problems. Great solution LOL. My problem is the wife.. No don't go there. She asked me to make a cutting board for a friend for Christmas. I'm fortunate to have some nice sized figured Jarrah. So hey presto, one nice looking board... Ooh that's to nice to give away. I want that one. Go and make another one. Yes Dear....

Hah, that sounds exactly like the story of those salt-cellars I made awhile back. I went to sell them, but Nat took two (need one for fancy salt, one for less fancy salt), then she had to give others away for gifts! Made negative profit on those 😂
❤ love it!
Love my Stanley #80 plane

I love it Mario!
Best way to have the pizza slide off the peel is to make sure you have a decent amount of semolina flour under it 😂
Great video. Makes me realize I’d like to be more proficient with hand tools.
Beautiful !!!

Thank you!
It's interesting to see you using more hand tools. Are you finding that the quieter operation and lower vibration is a good thing?

It's actually not mostly for the noise, but picking the right tool for the job at hand. Using power tools for the surface cleaning or shaping of the bevel would have actually taken me longer, at least for a one off. If I had a dozen to do, a jig to hold the peel at an angle to cut in that bevel at the thicknesser would have been worth building though! From ~2019-2022, my skills somewhat stagnated due to headspace being taken up with caring for sick family, now that is somewhat behind me I'm trying to skill up, hopefully I can push myself more with some hand tools :)
Than you for your video on this. Can I please ask what wood type you used (I assume some food safe wood), and what is the little plane (name and angle) that you use to shave down the salami? Thank you again.

Victorian Ash for the boards, the salami was jarrah for mine, and a mix of jarrah and karri (slightly lighter coloured reds) for my sisters pizza peel. There are very few woods that wouldn't be suitable - very porous woods like red oak, or those that can cause allergic reactions like wenge would be all that I avoid. It was just a fairly standard low angle block plane I used, no idea what the actual angle is on it. Since its all face grain, any plane will work just fine, block plane was just nice and small/easy to use.
I make a lot of teaching opportunities...

Did you take "teach myself something new every day" to the extreme? 😁
