Probably going to be drowned by all the other comments, but for all my metric friends out there, I've converted the steps in metric and added some information. All the numbers are in cm. I've also included and approximate numbers of BBs you'll need. 1) Make the handle how you'd like. First length of paracord will be 243.84 in front of the handle and 60.96 behind the handle. 2) Second length will be 198.12 3) Third length will be 177.8. You'll need two of this length. ~445 BBs. 4) Fourth length will be 157.48 5) Fifth length will be 137.16 6) Sixth length will be 116.84. You'll need two of this length. ~292 BBs. 7) Seventh will be 96.52. 8) Eight will be 76.2. 9) Ninth will be 55.88. You'll need two of this length. ~140 BBs. 10) Last will be 35.56. For ball bearings, you'll need approximately 880 4mm bearing. From what I see, your best bet will be steel ball bearing if you can't get your hands on BBs. Total length of paracord needed ~17-18m.

For everyone who doesn't really want to watch the whole vid Para cord bullwhip Three quarter inch PVC One inch PVC 30m para cord BB's KT tape Electrical tape 1.Cut the 3/4 inch PVC to nine inches 2.Cut the 1 inch PVC to 1 inch 3.First piece of para cord 8 feet long (8feet in front of handle 2feet behind) 4.Use electrical tape to mark where the bottom of the handle is 5.And 18 inches from the end of the para cord (the fall of the whip) 6.Cut nine more pieces of para cord of diminishig lengths 7.First piece of para cord must go from the first tape mark to the second 8.After that each piece must diminish by 8 inches every time 9.Cut three more pieces of the same length as the 3rd largest;6th largest and 9th largest piece of para cord 10.Fill those with BB's 11.Close the one end off by melting it 12.Take a drill bit a bit bigger than the BB bullet, and stick that in the para cord once you've gutted it, the melt it so it stays open permanently. 13.every foot and a half tape it with para cord once the rope is taped into the handle, After that rap it with KT tape and then your bullwhip is complete!

Having personally made 4 nearly identical copies of this whip and have a fairly small, but diverse collection of whips. From experience, here are some recommendations if you want to make your own, for anyone who ends up seeing this: 1. Don't bother with the longest BB strand- it makes the whip too heavy 2. Take about a 3ft strand and wrap it around the base of all the strands, then tuck it inside the PVC piping- it goes a long way towards making the whip last long term. It is also recommended to connect it as you would with the longest core strand by wrapping it around the very butt of the whip 3. Use quite a bit, but not too much, heavy duty tape when you are connecting the rope to the PVC. Too much will make that section inflexible and it will not crack properly (about 4 reversing, fairly loose wraps of duct tape worked well) 5. For a beginner, i recommend actually using a shorter whip- around 6 feet is plenty, and is actually closer to what is used in competitions anyways. 6. Be careful. Choose a low traffic area, such as in your backyard, and mark off a spot where you have at least three feet more than your overall whip length in every direction. Even behind and above you. Trust me, its important.

Fun fact: The bullwhip is incredibly strong because of the mass. As you see, bullwhips become thinner and thinner and because of that kinetic energy has to become more packed and more concentrated. Meaning more velocity (literally just speed) and that means even more FORCE. That's why it says cracka-lacka as it breaks the sound barrier-
You should include like how long it will take to make, so people can set aside some time

How
Blowtorch instead of a lighter. No overkill there! LOL! Seriously, it's pretty cool! Wonder if it would work for a snake whip, as well.
That random crack you did was called a sidearm flick. It’s very effective and loud with a bit of practice
Forget the haters, I like Nate.

Revegelance GRANT FOR THE WIN
You should make a fishing rod off of scrap
looks badass
Any time you need an aglet on paracord take an old antenna from a radio, put in about 1/2" of paracord into the antenna and just heat up the antenna. Instant aglet and you can make shoe laces that way as well
Can you make a Cat o' nine tails? Like put glass shards on it, and see what you can rip up?

this is a whip, a cat o' nine tails is a flail and would not need the taper, that it would also be braided with shards of metal in it, basically altogether a totally different build.
Great project
Hey Nate, i did exactly as you said and somehow mine grew an extra 4 1/2 ft lol, it sounds amazing and is insanely loud though it feelsw a bit too heavy in my opinion
Thank you for making this video I made the bullwhip
If I make a longer whip, should I still use the same number of strands and size difrences, or proportionally scale it up
@spaceshark12385

Sidney Wateski most likely scale it

Probably both. If it gets too thick it wont work as easily.

You'll end up adding a few strands. You want the whip to start tapering at about 2 feet from the handle. So if you do what they did and drop strands every 8 inches then you'll need to add strands. 1 for every 8 inches
Honestly i dont care whos makin g the video anymore, Nate or Grant there both Entertaining. Keep up the good Work Guys!
Made and worth it all the way
Nate's doing awesome 👍
