How to make a new yard
The main yard on the ship Götheborg is 23 meters long and weighs 1.7 tonnes - and we're making a new one! From cutting down two massive douglas fir trees, to joining them together, making the yard straight, and putting on iron rings to make it stable, it involves great craftmanship and many hours of hard work. Hear our carpenter Manne explain the process, and see some of the work being done in our workshop in Gothenburg. For more photos of the making of the new yard, have a look at highlights on Instagram, Preps Asia ( / theswedishshipgotheborg .

That’s just cool, never thought about it being two trees put together, and the reasoning for putting the two bases together! Please keep making these videos, I’d love to see when you put the iron rings on this yard.
Imagine doing that sort of work 300 years ago...
Great to have a place to but the laundry indeed!
