Just found your channel reminds me of Brian Oltrogge's FIRE-KEG

I'm going to experiment with white porcelain tile 12"×12" tiles are $2 each at home Depot, anyway white reflects heat the best, so I am guessing they might work great for an inner liner... Google says they withstand thousands of degrees, we'll see, I'll be stepping back on the first firing....😄😄😄

I think kegs are made of stainless steel. Not harmful when heating to the levels we're talking about here.

Please be careful where you source a keg. Paying a deposit really doesn't entitle anyone to keep the keg. It's considered theft. And no it's probably not a huge deal to Budweiser and they won't miss it. But to us little breweries/cideries/meaderies who are just trying to make a living it kinda sucks not getting kegs back from distributors. Kegs cost over $100 each and the deposit doesn't cover the loss of not getting these back. I wish deposits covered the cost of the keg but they just don't. It's the industry standard. Might be asking a lot but a disclaimer to not steal kegs to make things would be nice. Signed...a Michigan cidery owner.

I’m sure there’s a way to figure it out but just make sure it’s large enough to feed the crucible without having to remove the lid.

A common rule of thumb is 3 to 4 times bigger than the tip of the burner.

Hello! I've noticed that youre using more or less the same burner design as TKOR. Can this burner be left inside the forge while it doesnt have gas supply? Im not quite sure about this, and I've thought you could know the answer. Thanks in advance.

Yeah it’s basically the same design. My burner almost never gets taken out. So yes it’s okay.

not hard to find,, 5 lbs is $12-15 for 5lb or 1 gallon for about $65. irondungeonforge is a good resource (among many)

2" thick, 24" wide and 12' long for $60? Man... Can you please tell me if you misspoke because the prices I'm seeing aren't anywhere near what you're talking about. If you DID NOT accidentally say the wrong thing then I BEG YOU to provide me with a link to where you got yours. Amazon has it for that price but it's 2" x 24" x 24" for $60
