How many of you are self isolating? I have been a fair bit. Other than the Apocalypse driving me nuts, I really enjoyed making this pouch, though I'm contractually obligated to say that I think.

Still #HealthyAtHome in KY! Husband is laid off due to factory shutdowns, but governor has moved quickly to approve unemployment for those affected by this. I am able to work from home, which prevents its own challenges. But I am fortunate!

@@DarkHorseWorkshop I laughed out loud when I heard these because it was such a relatable moment. Glad I could make your day a little brighter!
Beautiful work! I enjoy how transparent you are with your mistakes and challenges as you work through your projects. Often when making a project, that is how things go (in my world anyway!) It's good to see how you overcome them and end up with a great looking piece!
I have never been this early, the whole bag is gorgeous. Great work as always, Thanks for getting me into drawing serpents and Knotwork.
Glad you are healthy and filming some content in this though times. You guys take care of yourselves out there. Thanks Magnus!
Your work is incredible and I love your honesty!
That look awesome as always. I like that you included the mistakes and redo's, it helps show just how much goes in to making your patterns. Also this helps me look more at putting 'gems' or glass into a project, seeing it done there, makes it look way more simple and understandable that it was for me.
Really like this pattern, looks amazing
Great video.. I appreciate you leaving the Opps.. still in it. It show’s humility and your sense of humor.. Stay healthy!!!
Fantastic craftsmanship im just getting back in to my leather work
You are by far my favorite leather craftsman on KZread. Thank you so much for sharing your work, experience and educating as you do. Those of us who are new to the craft....this all gets so overwhelming some times and its hard to balance the dreams with the normal bumps along the way. Hope to be half as good as you someday ❤🙏
That's a great pouch ,I've made more than my fair share of mistakes on projects, and learned it never pays to hurry on any of them no matter how many times you've made that type , great job as always ,just shows you are human and the creator of these patterns
Your videos get me so pumped to make something! Also, I appreciate you sharing mistakes. They are an important part of the process.
Amazing work! Just felt like mentioning that you inspired me to give leather working a try. First ever video i saw was your vambrace tutorial around 6 months ago and since then haven't been able to go a day without doing something to expand my knowledge of the art!
I'm glad I found you. You do a great job. I also make leather pouches. Thank you for sharing.😊
Nice job, man! I absolutely adore that design. And once again - thank you for providing the designs to us. It makes things so much easier. Love your vids! 💪😁

Awesome stuff. You're videos lately have inspired me to get into leather working (now especially that we're all stuck inside) and looking into buying more leather, I've stumbled into grades, cuts and all that stuff. I was wondering if you've done or had plans to do a video going over the different types of leather and cuts, grades and where which leather would be best applicable etc.
This is so cool..
Buon Natale a te e famiglia
Thanks for making it real, how do i get your patterns because i would love to make one.
mmm I have been playing with a pattern tracing wheel for stickers love how it does give me the tighter stickers to I just jump a hole if i think it to tight I work out the stickers on paper before i do work what done to the wheel if I have to skip a hole, file the hole off does not point a hole in the leather or first I used the backside to make it
Thus the problems with stitching instead of riveting. You can rivet the stress points and hand stitch the rest of it.
Очень хорошие работы!
Now what quarantine (covid-19) is is a lot of time to do something about it. I think I'm going to make this Phone case soon 🙂
You mentioned warhammer. I am subscribed lol
I really love this whole design, from the drawstring to the cabochon to the carving... it's very, very beautiful. Does the pattern have all holes marked for punching? Thanks Magnus.

It has guidelines for stitching and holes for punching. But not individual stitching holes since that can chaange so much depending on what people are using.

Hey man, So I have recently gotten into leathercraft, I bought a decent little kit off of Amazon and some of the tools have already died, so my question is where do you buy your supplies from, and what are some basic things that you recommend that a beginner should have. Thanks for all the help.
Wonderful¡¡
ciao bel lavoro complimenti...... potrei chiederti che colla hai usato?
Out of curiosity, do you hold leather workshops in your area? It would be awesome to get an in-person lesson!
Beautiful ! And the explainations are very useful as always. This reminds me a lot of the work done by French creator Les cuirs de Belfeuil. Have you been inspired ? :)
Muy buenas ideas como puedo tener los patrones gracias 😊😊
Tolkien too!
can you show how looks your full leather armour ?
Great video. That sewing machine though how much of a game changer is that? Loving the airbrush. I’m still struggling with bevelling. I can really mess up a project with my bevelling. Gonna browse Etsy now for your patterns.

I have some sales on my website. I'm trying to get away from etsy but it's tough. Check out www.darkhorseworkshop.com in the future. I bought that sewing machine when I got a job doing props for Arrow for a bit, it was a necessity. It took me a few years to realize it could tear through all sorts of stuff and not just softer leather.

Dark Horse Workshop my husband ordering the pattern now. Also your leaping wolf as I’m gonna make this bag with the leaping wolf. Just received a shipment of 3mm leather today glad it’s still being shipped in these apocalyptic times. And I’ll make a regular handbag with the wolf too. Sorry he used Etsy not your website 😬 but we will check out direct from your website in future. Keep safe. And thank you.

Ah, I'm doing research to make the right belt pouch: what about attaching rings with rivets on either side. Then attaching the rest of the belt to the ring. Saves the stitching and keeps you from having to think too far ahead with stitches.
What airbrush is that?
I love seeing the mistakes=) you can't learn without some failure.
Gorgeous. The pouch too ;) How many hours would you say it took to make?

If I didn't video it... I could probably get it done in 5 hours maybe? If hand stitching maybe add another 2. Could be faster, hard to tell sometimes.
6:33 why don’t you use the fibings edge cote for your edges? I have used it for years. To be honest I had never heard of the one you used. But then you did say it was new to the US.

Edge Kote is a paint. It is primarily used on materials that are difficult to burnish. Like chrome tan. Since Magnus uses almost exclusively veg tan. Why would he bother? Wax and gum trag or Tokonole already give you a perfect edge that will never peel or erode the way that edge kote can.
what do you use to sharpen you bevel? i have only used mine for a few months but it is dull as hell now

I have a video on it somewhere, but I use super fine sand paper, jewelers rouge, and leather.

Can you make a gusset with fabric rather than leather? I already have some leather but I don't really want to spend more just for a gusset

Advice Please. I'm a beginner. I had a copper stamp made so I can burn my name into each project but the leather keeps shrinking and distorting it. Any advice much appreciated Pamela Tasmania Australia

This comment actually got me thinking about it more and more and so I did a little poll. I'll be doing a quick little video with my final pattern all holes marked for punching and hand stitching all of it. :) Thanks.
sorry but not a fan of this video tutorial becuz it does not match the pattern you sell and your video skips steps so quickly. i cant figure out how to hand stitch the back piece and pouch properly as the holes dont line up properly.i wish instead you would make another video using your pattern as u sell and take your time to slow down on the video as certain steps are a fraction of a second which are critical, especially that part where you messed up. again thx for the video, i encourage you to slow the video down or add more time so we can clearly see, so we can follow along better.
