How to make a Mallet with ONLY 4 tools. Minimal tool beginner project.

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I made this stunning laminated mallet with wedged tenons and only four tools! Woodworking doesn't need to be expensive, despite what videos on KZread may make you think. My goal with these videos is to grow my workshop, whilst demonstrating that you can still make amazing things without a gigantic budget!

Great hand tool video. The thrill of taking some offcuts and making a useful and beauriful tool is a wonderful thing to see, and even more wonderful to experience. Thank you for posting this video, I'll be making one of these to replace my 'hewn out of a chunk of firewood' mallet. :)

its a fantastically rewarding experience, I've now made another two that I have no use for haha! Glad it inspired you to make another one!

Quite jealous of your wood collection! Nice mallet too, tempted to make one myself…

Lovely project. Suggestion for your next project, beefing up your workbench. Sawing, planing and everything else will be 100% easier if its not wobbling around all over the shop. Good luck.

Hi, thanks for the comment and advice! You are so right, I’m planning on building a new workbench over the Christmas period as the wobbling is causing a lot of wasted energy! I would love if you subscribe and stick around to see it, or have any other suggestions to how I can improve :)?

Been looking for a small project to get me back into the shop. I've wanted to do something to get into using a hand plan instead of a machine. This is the one. 👍

Awesome, thanks for the sub! Good to see another hand tool enthusiast around here! I avoid power tools as much as humanly possible, far too noisy and dusty for my liking!

If you need to hold it in place use a bit of ca glue :-) and if doing it to Bigger pieces use 99% alcohol on one side a to speed up the drying process .GREAT work :-)
