My mom teaches calligraphy and was a professional calligrapher back in the day. She had never heard of this, and now that she's seen it she want me to make her some for Christmas! Thanks for sharing!

This is absolutely awesome. I've been trying to make a 'qalam' (traditional Arabic calligraphy pen) but can't find bamboo in lockdown. This would work well! Also 'homegrown art' is my new favorite category of KZread. I never want to see a video of ridiculously expensive materials again, this was way more inspiring and creative!

I got 6 size of qalam. It's the cheapest among the Calligraphy pen.

Thanks, Edgar. This is the first time I've seen a template with a 'base' on it - very good idea. I'm hoping this will sort out the problems I had with the pens I made through tutorials from other people :) As I write this, I'm already in the process of making them :) (I cut out the templates from aluminium soda can, folded, punched the holes, have my sandpaper ready.. Will let you know how it turns out) Cheers from Amsterdam
