Homemade Cola Pen How-To // Modified Design for Better Calligraphy
I made my first cola pen in 2014 and have since modified the design to suit my aggressive calligraphy style. It's more rigid and durable, holds more ink, and creates tons of delicious ink splatter.
Join me as I walk through how I make my modified cola pens and see how I create crazy textures with each stroke.

This is gonna help me so much. In school I made an awful design for a project, and it's been haunting me so I hope I can use this technique to create a better design. Great work!

just a couple of questions: do u sell the cola pens? and what kind of ink you were using? I watched your demo at the Summer Retreat and I am totally facsinated by your lettering style! Beautiful!!! Tks so much.

Thank you so much, Rosa! Unfortunately, I don't sell the cola pens. I'll either use india ink straight up, or I'll water down some acrylic paint to where I can control the consistency a bit more depending if I want more splatter (waterier) or less splatter (thicker).

@@Tinlunstudio and do u use the foam which comes in fruit boxes or is there a particular brand or or size for your first demo? I don't know about the celery stalk but maybe I can use raw carrot? I can't take my mind off your artwork and I know this is my style I need to try.
Would you be able to do it only twice and get somewhat of the same result?

I've honestly been using the same 3 or 4 cola pens for the past few years and they've been holding up fairly well. The first one I ever made is starting to break down a little but I still use it just fine.
