Despite all the other comments saying it isn’t a hologram (it isn’t a hologram but anyways), it still looks really epic and you did a great job building the projector. Yayeet

What is holographic about this? Am I missing something here? It looks to me as though all you are doing is projecting the image of a smartphone screen onto another screen with a basic lens. You would be better off just looking at your smartphone!

Biconvex lens is the correct term for a magnifying lens, so yes seeing as a=a. You will never see a magnifying glass with a single side convex lens. Only time you might see that is in corrective lens's.

Hello, the title is misleading, this does not represent a hologram, A hologram is an image containing three dimensional information. This projection is achieved through holography, a technique that records the 3D volume of an object using waves. This is often what is referred to as the "real hologram". How it works ? The hologram exists thanks to interference (superimpositions of two close waves). It is about projecting a beam of light both on an object and on a plate, and the interactions between the two waves will create a three-dimensional image. What you presented here is just a video projector

I'm all about DIY. Check out this shit I've either built, am almost finished building, have only just started building, or am saving the money to buy raw materials. . . . 1. Studio lighting I've built DIY studio lights for my videos, including key, side, and back. The key light I keep as a white light, the side light is morning orange, and the back light is sky blue . 2. Cardboard models Ive built cardboard scale models of science fiction staples such as The Milano from GOTG, The Millennium Falcon, The Starship Enterprise NCC-1701, an X-Wing fighter with thermal blanketing like the space shuttle, and a scratch built serviceable light saber hilt or holster - that is, if there were such a thing as light sabers. Huh... what else... Oh yeah, I built Smaug with zero templates (that means I made the whole damn thing up based on movie stills). It's approximately 8 inches from the rear horns to the tip of the jaw and head and tongue and teeth and there are the flat neck folds t and glowing yellow eyes left to build, all while attaching hundreds of scales and working on a full color paint job for it that's almost finished. 3. Music laser I've also got a piece of intellectual property that I invented, and the only reason I took so long to invent it is because I spent 30 years searching for an equivalent device to what I finally decided to just build so I could just get it over with - ready for the big reveal? It's a cat toy laser device that creates a musical effect on the wall when vibrating in synch with any particular music. 4. Bionic boots NEXT, but really FIRST, I've built at least 5 prototypes of bionic boots using spear gun rubber and designed to increase my top running speed to 30mph. 5. DIY bullet stopping body armor I've actually built a proof of concept body armor that I've tested using fiberglass blankets and plastic grocery bags, which I then heat up to 350° until the plastic melts into the fiberglass, providing finished protection against .22 shells, 9 mm pistols, a point blank range blast from a 20 gauge shotgun shell, a shell from a 30.06 rifle round, and of course, this DIY armor stops BBs in their tracks! Pellets, too! Oh, and I've also got a slingshot that uses 1/2 inch steel ammunition. 6. Kevlar suit Soon I'll have a spandex/kevlar one piece full body suit that's resistant against blades, which I'll wear my bullet stopping armor on top of. 7. Lenses (HUD, 10X night vision One lens in the helmet will serve as an Android powered HUD (Heads Up Display) for the helmet I'm building which snaps down and situates directly in front of one lens. The other lens is a night vision infrared lens which translates to 10X magnification. 8. Upper body passive exo-skeleton Wait a second.... ah, I can't forget this. A passive upper-body exo-skeleton which increases upper-body strength by 30% using a torsion spring, a stretching spring which uses a custom built parallelogram to do the heavy lifting (oh, and a back brace) and the forearm will lock into place while moving weight, and get this... 9. Two brass knuckle tasers and long range wired tasers A pair of knuckle tasers for getting somebody to shit their pants on command! And at a longer range, a couple of ranged, wired tasers for when it gets too close for comfort. 10. Collapsible hand glider This one I haven't began designing yet, but it's my goal to design, build, and patent a fully collapsible, motor powered, full sized hang glider that will fit in a backpack and weigh less than 20 lbs. 11. Twelve targeting warning lasers Then there's 6 red targeting lasers on my left wrist (these are Class I and are relatively safe), and 6 green targeting lasers on my right wrist... again, relatively safe. 12. Two Class IV serious blinding burning lasers Firstly, a 1/2 watt Class IV green laser mounted to the top of my right forearm which will fuck up your world from 300 feet by blinding you permanently. It'll burn your skin too, and the same goes for the two watt Class IV blue laser, that yup, does permanent damage to your retina after 1/8 second exposure directly to the retina. 13. Knives, knives, knives For my knives I'll have two tactical knives with four inch blades, two smaller knives with 3 inch blades, one mini-knife for simple cuts, and a 6 inch boot knife. You see, I'm a Superhero. Yes, it required me losing my mind to be the most effective crime fighter. If you see me on the Denton TX news, look out for stories pertaining to 'The Defender Of The Faith". That's my alter ego name. 14. Numb-Chucks WHOOPS, I almost forgot. A pair of nunchaku with two pieces connected by a chain that will screw together in the middle, forming a long, heavy club. 15. BB guns A fully automatic gas powered BB rifle that looks exactly like an AR-15 and can shoot 48 BBs in fully automatic mode in two seconds, and two Crossman gas powered BB pistols with a 24 BB capacity magazine, and a spare magazine that fits into a pocket on the holster. 16. Chinese dragon And as a bonus, a stylized Chinese dragon tea candle holder. I plan on replicating this, which is made out of sheet metal, out of posterboard instead. Then I'll coat each piece with a 50/50 wood glue and water mixture. After about half a dozen coats of that and the poster board will feel like frikin' plastic. K build this last probably. I'm going to paint it in very colorful Chinese dragon colors. I suppose this is all I have planned for the near future. Some of the things I want to build, but they're not a priority: 17. Cloud chamber A cloud chamber for detecting alpha particles, cosmic rays, neutron decay, and all kinds of goodies that you want to place on a tabletop for display - preferable one at groin level. 18. ChatGPT3 ChatGPT3 will serve as my AI sidekick. I'm in the process of using voice commands from the ChatGTP3 AI to remotely control a surveillance drone by speaking commands as an interface. ChatGPT3 says that it will never be able to pilot a drone, but I beg to differ. The Android interface for my drone will be programmed to understand spoken words by the ChatGP3 AI. Just you wait... Giskard (as I've named ChatGPT3) will need some basic image and pattern recognition built into the interface to the drone, and before you know it, either myself or some other smart apple will teach ChatGP3 how to fly a drone. If I don't do it, I guaran-damn-tee you that it that SOMEBODY WILL. The age of an AI that can pass a Turing test is upon us. Natural language processing will lead to an AI revolutionary singularity. AND SOON! And that's my DIY project list... for now.

Re the comment of "Mr. Prologic": Its worse than that he's dead Jim..... This isn't even Pipers Ghost (as the image isn't produced by a partial reflection and there is no illusion that it is with other real things - like actors - in the same plane). It is just basic 1:1 size image projection. In this case, we are seeing a much less bright and somewhat less sharp image than that already on the smartphone. So whats the point of having a less good image than you started with on a non-movable tabletop contraption about half a meter long - instead of a really good image on a 4mm thick smartphone that you can take anywhere? The best description of this is "pointless complicated and unwieldy arrangement for producing image degradation". And the word hologram just should not be used anywhere in this - it just is NOT a hologram! You could replace "hologram" with "haystack", "front wheel", "boiled egg", "toothache", "apple tree", "zebra" etc. and the title of this would make just as much sense!

I've seen an excellent holographic effect -- but not a hologram -- with a large concave mirror. It was in school, there was this mirror, a darkened room, a light source, and my head somewhere near the focal point. The other students got to see a 3D image of my head. ;) I got to see an image of another student's head. The reason it wasn't a hologram is because there was no way to record the image for reproduction -- there was no _graphos_ for holo_graphy._ :) I still wonder what technology we might one day see based on this, but I don't think it'd ever be suitable for many people to watch from different angles. Hmm... that's less of a problem now everyone has their own entertainment devices, but the mirror was nearly a meter across and deeply dished. I don't know. :)

I don't understand why some countries use a , instead of a . in non-whole numbers. I mean here: One thousand, one hundred and twenty-three = 1,123. One and one hundred and twenty-three thousands = 1,123. How does it make any sense to use the same symbol for 2 different uses in the same system? It should be 1,123 and 1.123. Also, a hologram is 3D, here you have a 2D projected image. That's it.

Hey mate how r ya, John from down under here :) im not gonna bag ya too much because you've already copped heaps for this Master class piece of art you dished up to us all, What i don't understand is how you stil managed to get it all wrong when your picture for this is of 2 dancing hologram women & thats what i was hoping to see lol,Sorry to say mate it was a poor dance track choice too, did you get on the whacki tobacci or something as you made a bit of a mess of it, but hey this sort of shit happens yeah no one's perfect & you certainly can't change whats happened! but you can go back to the drawing board & come up with a solution to making this hologram & bringing those 2 women dancers to life size !!! I Hope you carry on & make it : )
