That’s true. She could Make a small change/addition, or she could suck up the essential oil to separate it from the hydrosol with a syringe.

@@DiegotoysTrujillo the 2 liter bottle that holds the water for the condenser, if you just put it high up and let the water flow out of it into a lower bottle you don't need a pump. gravity will push the water through the condenser for you

Boiling salt water, into fresh drinking water. So if you boil any kind of water it turns into a vapor, the vapor/steam travels from the light bulb into the hose into another bottle which is full of water to cool the hose full of steam back into water.

Hi there. I like what you're trying to do here. This is the first time that I see simple distillation is done this innovative way and cheap. But: - Is there a way to do it by inserting a thermometer in the boiling flask. I need to distill alcohol-water mixture from sugar fermentation at 78 degrees.

I needed to find a way to make it cheap, I found the fermentation method. But at the end I need to distill the alcohol through many cycles at 78 degrees. That's why I was asking. No malicious intentions.

Whatever's in the light bulb gets vapourised by heat, vapour travels up the tube and flowing cold water in the smaller coke bottle turns vapour back into a liquid. Alcohol is a good example of this: the brew, lets say 9% abv (9% alcohol, 91% water) is in the bulb to start off with, as it heats up, the alcohol vapours separate from the water, which is left in the bulb, and slightly purer alcohol drips into the cup on the other side. This is how they make vodka, whiskey, gin etc.
