How To Make a Circular Saw Guide | DIY Circular Saw Crosscut Jig

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hello! In this video I'm showing how to make a circular saw guide.
► For more details check out my website: allflavorworkshop.com/
► Tutorial and Plans available: allflavorworkshop.com/circula...
► ALL Woodworking Plans: allflavorworkshop.com/woodwor...
I made a simple circular saw cutting guide that serves both as a straight cutting guide as well as a crosscut jig. The build is solid, it doesn't cost much, you'll need a circular saw to build it and you can use it for a lot of workshop projects. The cutting guide lets you cut straight cuts, cross cuts, small pieces and other. You will need only few things to make this simple DIY tool - plywood, aluminum angles and a circular saw. The circular saw guide is simple to make and it will help you with many projects. Watch the entire video for a step by step guide how to make such a circular saw cutting jig.
I started out by cutting the plywood for the saw guide. Designed the jig and cut off wood surplus to make the saw guide lighter. Cut 2 aluminum angles - one that serves for straight long cuts and the other one for crosscuts. I used a two sided tape and screws to fix the angles and made sure the angles are at 90°. Attached a handle to the jig for easier manipulation and fixed an anti-slip tape on the bottom to prevent the cutting guide from slipping.

    Lovely Video clip! Apologies for the intrusion, I am interested in your opinion. Have you tried - Schallingora Dexterous Programme Scheme (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a good one off guide for building any shed in no time with no experience minus the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my GF after a lifetime of fighting got cool success with it.

    Best saw guide I've seen yet. Any chance you could provide a sketch with rough measurements? I watched this video probably 5 times trying to see where you made you marks on the ruler but didn't catch them all. Like you, once I make yours, this will be my third version, but I like yours just the way it is. All versions I tried make a straight line. Yours adds a rail to make a square cut. Yours allows for aligning the saw BEFORE you make the cut so you don't start crooked. Again - best version I've seen online yet!

  • @KipIngram

    Nice. I single frame stepped as you were sliding the square up to that cut - it's indeed VERY square.

I saw the 4 stars and some glowing reviews so decided to purchase this saw. Well, leave your money in your pocket and run a cord because this little saw won't cut

    Hi Lukas, did this replace the double rail jig you built? They are very similar othewr than the bar under the base plate?

  • @AllFlavorWorkshop

    @AllFlavorWorkshop

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Dave! There are pros and cons I see now. The double rail is a bit more sturdy, holds tight, shorter, you cannot see perfectly well how far and where your blade is and it takes more time to adjust it correctly to the line / how you wanna cut - though works well. This one is quicker to set and cut, you can crosscut, easier to adjust, has anti-slip tapes on the bottom (which is a huge benefit - otherwise I recommend to fix the jig using clamps or something).

    If your guide is flush with the line, the LEFT side of the blade will run along the guide. Your guide is flush with the line therefore the RIGHT side of the blade will be OVER your line and your measurement will be out by the thickness of your blade!

  • @YarNotsew

    @YarNotsew

    2 жыл бұрын

    That's the way all of these saw guides work. You place the guide on the "keep" side of the line. Everything to the right, including the kerf, is scrap.

  • @Mr.Grimsdale

    @Mr.Grimsdale

    2 жыл бұрын

    It depends where you measure from, if you measure say 30cm from left to right then draw your line, then use the guide and do your cut, you will have a 30cm, if you wanted 30cm on your right-hand side of your cut line then you would have to add the thickness of your blade.

  • @hmmob3956
