Nice...I added dl- Panthinol, urea, propanidoil 1,3, rice protein, ginger root extract, and both Calendula and chamomile extracts. I used chamomile floral water to add a light scent. It turned out to be a lovely cream. I enjoy it in addition to my the honey face wash, the rice water toner and the hyaluronic acid AHA serum I make. This skin care routine has taken my skin to the next level. I highly recommend to anyone with mature skin. I trade out my hyaluronic AHA serum every other night with The Ordinary's retinol serum. I just can't believe how beautiful and dewy my complexion has become.

Mix DL with niacinamide Mix glycerin & xanthum gum. Mix both. Add olvium 1000 as emulsifier. Now place the beaker in water bath in 17 centigrade. Remove the beaker when all is dissolved. Mix well........ At room temperature add vitamin E n other preservative mix well. To check ph add 2g cream in 6 g of DL ph should be 6.

You can add salicylic acid or lactic acid, it’ll work. I made some cold process soap adding salicylic acid and lactic acid with some other key ingredients, pimples went away along with the dark spots. 🌹🙏🏽🥰

Hi Cecil, Why did you add Vit E if there is no oil in the formula? Isn’t vit E used to reduce the rancidity of oils?

Yes vitamin E is an antioxidant, but it also provides additional antioxidant protection for the skin. You can leave it out if it bothers you.

I am a total newbie in the diy cream world: I read that xanthan gum is a stabilizer - is it also necessary in this formulation when I make a tiny batch and use it up quickly. If not, what other ingredient do I have to increase to get to 100% again. - could I also use the xanthan gum that’s used for baking - if I don’t have the niacinamide, should I just increase the glycerin?? Thank you too for watching the video. Olivem 1000 is the only emulsifier I know of that is capable of producing an oil-free emulsion. Perhaps there are others that I am not aware of.

Thank you dear. Glad you like the formula. You can use leucidal sf max. it is a water soluble preservative, it covers a prang ion 3 - 8 and the recommended dose for a 100 gram formula is between 2 - 4 %

Olivem 1000 is known to create a soaping effect on the skin. Did you change anything in the formula?

@@cecilvig no. I did it as is. But gave way too much saponin to make it nice for the face Mag oil does the same, it will create a saponin effect but as it’s on the body, it seems less an inconvenient. On the face though .. note as nice 😊 The texture is nice The effect … much less I would love to make it less soapy but if Olivem 1000 does it, as part of its particularly, then it won’t work 🤔 Have you made body milks? I have been making some recipes but so far , adjusting the emusifyer few times, it still separates after 10-14 days. The emulsification is thin and needs to, because it will become a lotion if i go too far and bring other ingredients. ( i use GS & PEG 100 as emulsifyer as it doesn’t thicken )

Thank you dear. To my knowledge, olivem 1000 is the only emulsifier I know that can produce an oil free emulsion. There may be others that I am not aware of. You can use any preservative you wish, just make sure to follow the guidelines given by the supplier.

Oil-free emulsions can be made with Tegomuls and with PolyAquol 2w.

Preservative eco. It s a natural broad spectrum preservative, suitable for organic and natural products, as well as ECOCERT and COSMOS approved. It is a blend of benzyl alcohol, salicylic acid , glycerin and sorbic acid, and is effective against bacteria, yeast, fungi and mould.
