    Good point, the mechanisms will definitely work better if you keep them free of dirt and debris. A good wash and wipe after a trek will help keep the wear and tear on the parts to a minimum.

Thankyou for your reply Unfortunately I'm not looking to replace but actually make my own rod pod, I have limited capability money is tight so I'm looking at doing some fishing hacks I don't have access to a welder so my thought was to use this kinda locking mechanism If that makes sence. Thankyou

    No screwdriver..should be swiss army knife...worked for me...
